This year it is the 66th time that the main US television award has been presented. The jury evaluated serials, television films, reality shows, as well as music and comedy programs.
In today's selection we offer Top 10 Emmy Awards 2014... From all 30 nominations, we selected those in which TV projects and actors familiar to Russians are presented.
10. "Colbert Report"
By 2014 this satirical program already had 4 Emmy awards. This year Colbert's Report won Best Comedy Program and Best Screenplay.
9. "True Detective"
This neo-noir television detective won Best Director for a Drama Series. The first season of "Detective" premiered in 2012. It is planned that there will be 8 episodes annually, and each season will have its own characters and its own plot.
8. "Sherlock: His Final Oath"
British TV series won Best Screenplay. The film has been running since 2011 and, in addition to the Emmy, has an English BAFTA award in the most prestigious among the nominations - Best Drama Series.
7. "Louis"
The winner in the Best Comedy Series nomination, the telenovela tells the story of the comedian Louis, raising two daughters and trying to improve his personal life. Louis CK became the producer, director, screenwriter and even the leading actor.
6. Brian Cranston
The hero of the series "Breaking Bad" was named the best actor. In the series, Cranston plays a chemistry teacher who, in order to ensure the future of his family, is engaged in the manufacture of synthetic drugs.
5. Julianne Margulies
Margulis won a second Emmy for Best Actress for a leading role in the hit TV series The Good Wife. Julianne began her career as a TV star in 1994 in the cult Ambulance.
4. "An ordinary heart"
The 2014 premiere won the Best TV Movie nomination. The script of the film is dedicated to the problems of the fight against AIDS. The Plain Heart starred Jim Parsons, Julia Roberts and Taylor Kitsch.
3. "Fargo"
Black tragicomedy became the best mini-series of 2014. Fargo was supposed to have only one season, but in 2015 viewers will still see 10 more episodes of the second season. Billy Bob Thornton, Colin Hanks, Martin Freeman played in the series.
2. "American family"
2014 Best Comedy Series outperformed hits like The Big Bang Theory, Silicon Valley, and The Vice President. The series also won the award for the best supporting actor - Ty Burrell.
1. "Breaking Bad"
The best drama series of 2014 we presented this year in ranking of the best TV shows for men... In the competition, the telenovela took the palm from Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey and Mad Men.
