Crossovers are becoming more popular every year. They successfully combine the stylistics of distant wanderings, increased cross-country ability in difficult weather conditions, traditional for Russia, and at the same time are able to feel quite comfortable in the city. And the price for them is generally less than for their counterparts designed for serious off-road conditions, and the environment for the driver and passengers is no worse.
Here are the most anticipated new crossovers and SUVs, which are ready to present to motorists the end of 2017 and the beginning of the middle of 2018.
10. Audi Q6 e-Tron
The rating of the most anticipated crossovers of 2018 is opened by an unusual model for the Russian eye - the Audi Q6 e-Tron electric car or, in a simple way, a car that runs on electricity. Now one of the first electric swallows on the market is already ready for mass production, although still not much is known about it:
- the classic tradition of crossover design from Audi;
- two electric motors with a total capacity of 500 liters. with., allowing to expect fantastic figures of time;
- the price is about $ 70,000;
- release date sometime in 2018.
9. BMW X3
In the summer of 2017, BMW showed the world the third generation of the luxury crossover BMW X3. It is distinguished from its “ancestor” by increased dimensions, a new platform, an improved drive system and an interior with the latest design. In addition, light aluminum alloys are actively used in the design of the car, thanks to which the car weighs 55 kg less than the previous version.
The new model will be available for purchase from mid-November 2017. Inspired by the Audi Q6 e-Tron, the Germans plan to give the user the option to choose between the traditional gasoline and non-standard electric versions of the X3 - but it is slated for release much later in 2018.
8. Mazda CX-4
The Mazda CX-4 is an interesting, rarely seen type of coupe crossover. So far, only Chinese buyers can boast of access to the updated version of the car. The model will be distinguished from its predecessor by:
- the best sound insulation;
- new suspension;
- better quality interior;
- multimedia system coupled with the latest developments in the field of security.
7. Chery Tigo 3X
Already at the end of 2017, the Russian market is expected to deliver a Chinese novelty - a tiny SUV Chery Tigo 3X. It is really small, since the car is only 4.2 m long and 1.76 m wide. But it has a design like the big crossover brothers - plastic protective linings, increased ground clearance and roof rails.
It is clear that the model does not have all the off-road qualities (it will have a front-wheel drive, suspension characteristic of inexpensive cars, etc.), but as a city car with improved cross-country ability and a spacious trunk, Chery Tigo 3X will be quite good.
6. Lada Vesta Cross
Most likely, next year we should expect the release of new items from a domestic manufacturer - a crossover with a sedan body. At least the project director confirmed that the car will hit the market very soon (and that it is simply amazing).
So far, very little is known about the technical characteristics of the new items - they will probably improve the suspension and steering, add individual settings and plastic linings characteristic of crossovers.
5. Haval H2
Some of the most popular and best Chinese cars on the Russian market are cars from the Haval brand, especially the Haval H9, the updated version of which went on sale at the end of October 2017.
And in China, sales of the refreshed H2 kicked off, now with an improved gearbox, a new fuel-efficient drivetrain, increased safety measures, a modern media system, and various enhancements like tire pressure monitoring and parking. Perhaps this model will become one of the most anticipated Chinese crossovers in 2018 on the Russian market.
4. KIA Sorento Prime
Very soon, the new version of the KIA Sorento Prime will reach Russia through Europe. Sales of one of the most anticipated crossovers in Russia in 2018 will begin at the end of March 2018.
The new generation will have a 3.3 liter petrol engine with a capacity of 249 liters. from. (or a diesel volume of 2.2 liters and a capacity of 200 liters. from.) and an eight-band automatic transmission.
3. Hundai Santa Fe
One of the most anticipated SUVs of 2018 is the debut of the new, fourth-generation Santa Fe SUV from Hyundai, dearly loved by Russians. They will show a novelty on the strength of next spring.
Little is known about it so far - except that we are promised double front optics, a significantly improved and redesigned interior, and by the end of the year, a seven-seat modification of the car.
2. Audi Q3
Another of the new SUVs expected in Russia in 2018 is the next generation Q3, which has already started test runs in the summer of 2017.
According to rumors, the size of the Audi Q3 will be larger than its predecessor, but due to the use of the new platform, it is generally lighter. There is also an assumption that the volume of engines will be from 2.0 to 2.5 liters. In addition, the equipment will include (but not be limited to) a state-of-the-art digital panel, a multimedia system with smartphone integration, etc.
1. BMW X2 and X7
Already next 2018, two new crossovers from BMW expected in Russia will enter the Russian market at once - the parquet SUV X2 and the sophisticated flagship X7. While it is known for sure that the X2 will have front-wheel drive, the UKL platform, and the engine power will range from 116 to 231 hp. from. The X7 boasts gigantic dimensions (5 m long, 2 m wide and 3.1 m wheelbase). The power of the six- and eight-cylinder engines will be 340 and 445 hp. with., and declared as gasoline and diesel and hybrid engines.
