The most popular ski resorts in Russia 2019-2020

Many people prefer to celebrate the New Year at home, watching TV and eating tangerines. Others fly to places where it is sunny and warm all year round. Still others visit ancient cities and admire the beauty of architecture. But there is also a fourth type of people who love adventure and physical activity.

The travel portal Tvil.ru tells about the tastes and habits of the latter. Service experts analyzed paid applications for booking accommodation from December 30, 2019 to January 8, 2020 and identified the most popular ski resorts in Russia.

6. Krasnaya Polyana, Krasnodar Territory

Open the list the best ski resorts in Russia in 2019-2020 three complexes at once in Krasnaya Polyana:

  1. "Rosa Khutor";
  2. "Mountain Carousel";
  3. and a place with a telling name "Gazprom".

All three complexes were created according to the latest tourism and sports science. All three deserve the adjective “chic” in the description. All three boast excellent tracks, and the Rosa Khutor resort even hosted competitions during the Sochi Olympics.

For beginners, there are flat and gentle slopes, while experienced athletes can try themselves on serious red and black slopes. And for those who do not want to ride on a knurled track, there are many opportunities for freeriding.

An important aspect: Adler's popular ski resorts are easily accessible. There is an international airport in Sochi, and from there you can reach Esto-Sadka, where Gazprom and Gornaya Karusel are located, either by car or by bus. And to "Rosa Khutor" generally runs its own train.

5. Bannoe, Bashkiria

This resort is located in very picturesque places, and the lake of the same name was even given the status of a nature monument of federal significance. Thanks to the pond, it is possible to rest in the "Bannoy" all year round: in summer there are fans of beach recreation and fishing, and in winter - lovers of skiing.

The ski season lasts from November to May. The staff of "Bannoye" does not expect favors from nature and maintains the tracks in working order with the help of snow cannons.

In total, the Bannoye trails are divided into two parts.

  • The large complex is intended for the "big" - experienced athletes and amateurs. They can enjoy skiing on 4 tracks 2.5 km long (the height difference is about half a kilometer).
  • And beginners gather in the Small Complex, for whom there are 2 easy and comfortable tracks. There is even a special place for those wishing to put a child on skis.
  • And in order to minimize the time between skiing, both complexes operate the most modern lifts and cable cars. The path from the very bottom to the top will take a maximum of five minutes.

There are several hotels near the mountain complex, there is a sanatorium, a recreation center with its own swimming pool. And if you don't want to see people (except on the highways), you can rent a cottage or guest house nearby.

4. Sverdlovsk region

Siberians love to ride on the slopes of the Merry Mountains.From a geological point of view, it is rather undersized (a rare mountain will reach 700 meters above sea level).

Therefore, the slopes on Yezhovaya Gora, where the popular ski resort is located, are not as dizzyingly exciting as in Krasnaya Polyana. Their length is 1500 meters, and the height difference is small - 300 meters.

However, the resort is famous not for its technical complexity, but for the comfort of the European level, and a convenient location not far from the "Siberian capital". It is easy to get there both by your own car or rental car, and by public transport. An excellent road and buses run from the city to the resort.

The five slopes of the resort are divided into:

  • one for beginners;
  • two for those who have already mastered skiing;
  • and two more difficult ones, for veterans.

And if you get bored of riding, there are places nearby where you can have a delicious lunch in a pleasant company, as well as dance and have fun. And all this will cost relatively little money, because the Yezhovaya Gora resort is one of the most inexpensive ski resorts in Russia.

3. Sheregesh, Kemerovo region

The history of the Sheregesh resort dates back to Soviet times, when a sports complex was built in the village of the same name under the auspices of the USSR Sports Committee specifically for the Spartakiad.

A lot of time has passed since then, the Soviet Union is no longer there, the generation has changed, but Sheregesh still attracts mountain sports fans.

You can go down the slopes of four mountains, which are divided into three zones depending on the difficulty. There are several tracks in total, and their length varies from 700 meters to almost four kilometers.

The steepness is also different - from a small one, 300 meters, to almost 680 meters. But the most important attraction of the resort is the abundance of snow, the thickness of which in some areas is an impressive 4 meters. So "Sheregesh" has long been a favorite place for freeriders. They have where to turn around.

It is not surprising that with such natural data the resort is developing intensively. He started with a modest 30 thousand people a year, and now operates with numbers in a million guests. And to get to the resort it was even more convenient, there was even a railway.

2. Moscow region

Looking at the map of the Moscow region, it is hard to believe that there can be a place for a ski resort. The differences in elevation, to put it mildly, are not inspiring: there are only small hills, where you can easily climb with a walking step.

But if there are no ski slopes donated by nature, they can always be organized “manually”. So in the suburbs, like mushrooms after rain, almost two dozen ski resorts have sprung up. The most popular of them are Sorochany, Yakhroma, Volen and Chulkovo.

The Moscow region is the second most popular area among Russian ski lovers. They are attracted primarily by the fact that it is easy and simple to get to the sports complexes of the Moscow region either by train or by their own transport. The level of accommodation and service has long ago reached the notorious "European".

The tracks are not difficult, but not everyone is born professionals. In alpine skiing, as in any other activity, experience is important. And it is easy and simple to study on the routes that are comfortable for beginners in the Moscow region. Especially for children, since the local resorts have special instructors specializing in teaching young skiers.

1. Leningrad region

5gx1nvszThe rest will cost: 3414 rubles. for 5 nights

The relief of the Leningrad region is slightly more varied than the Moscow one. It even boasts Mount Kivisyurja, which is 203 meters high. It is not surprising that one of the most popular Russian ski resorts, Igora, is located on its slope.

Local routes (there are five of them in total) are the longest in the entire region, some of them exceed a kilometer in length. And around the so-visited all-season ski resort, a lot of tourist amenities have grown: cafes, restaurants, there is even a spa and a cinema.The place is very popular, but if you are an extrovert it is more of a plus. We recommend for introverts to go to "Igor" in the morning on weekdays, since you can get there from St. Petersburg in just an hour.

"Puhtolova Gora" is the best choice for beginners or those who want to put their child on skis. The difference in height is only 50 meters. The tracks are short, so that the child, even with the most unpleasant development of events, will not be able to develop high speed and, as a result, get injured.

Prices for "Puhtolovaya Gora" are lower than those of "Igora", but there is also less entertainment - a cafe where you can have a hearty meal with children, and a bathhouse. If you are too lazy to drag back and forth from St. Petersburg, you can rent inexpensive housing.

But Korobitsyno is more for the pros. In total, there are three resorts on the slopes of the Karelian Mountains, and all three of them are perfectly equipped with everything you need. There are many trails (for example, the "Golden Mountain" boasts a whole dozen) of different difficulty levels - from green to black.

And despite their modest heights, some of them are challenging enough to please seasoned sports enthusiasts. There is equipment rental, you can arrange classes with instructors. Hotels, as vacationers say, are excellent. True, everything will cost a little more than in "Igor" and "Puhtolovaya Gora", and it takes about twice as long to get from St. Petersburg. But for living and corporate events - a great option.
