Crossovers and SUVs are the most popular segment of new cars in Russia. According to Avtostat, in January-September 2019, Russian motorists bought 516.6 thousand new crossovers and SUVs.
And the analysts of "Auto Price" have made a "wish list" for the next year. The rating of the most anticipated crossovers of 2020 includes both completely new models and updated variations of already popular cars.
8. Audi SQ5 TDI 2020
Recommended retail price: from 4.675 million rubles
The sporty version of the luxury five-seater crossover features a 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine and special-design 20-21-inch alloy wheels, available only for this version.
A large tailgate, branded head optics, an impressive false radiator grille and a huge bumper immediately make it clear - in front of you is a solid and strong car for respectable people. The overall monumental appearance of the car is complemented by massive wheel arches and rear pillars.
At the same time, the Audi SQ5 TDI does not give the impression of clumsiness, its massiveness is balanced by the sloping roof lines, elegant side doors and neat "circles" of fog lights.
The diesel version had a 30 mm lower ground clearance, its height was sacrificed for better handling and aerodynamics.
The TDI engine has been complemented by an electric compressor and a 48-volt Mild Hybrid system. According to the manufacturer, the "heart" of the Audi SQ5 TDI has reinforced pistons, a crankshaft and connecting rods.
The speed of the new crossover is limited to 250 km per hour.
7. Audi Q5 2020

Here is the combination of the German brand's long and venerable pedigree with a compact crossover template. The results are impressive. The brutal and at the same time harmonious silhouette is distinguished by a long hood, sloping roof and very noticeable wheel arches. In addition, the crossover has grown somewhat in size compared to the previous generation. Now its length is 4663 mm instead of 4629 mm, and the height is -1659 mm, not 1655 mm. The ground clearance also increased by 8 mm (up to 208 mm). As they say, a trifle, but nice.
The cab boasts impeccable build quality and premium materials such as soft plastics, genuine leather and aluminum.
Every second generation Q5 for Russia is powered by a powerful and efficient turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a 7-speed robotized gearbox and all-wheel drive.
The crossover accelerates from place to "sotochka" in 6.3 seconds, and its maximum speed is 237 km / h.
6. Volkswagen Tiguan 2020

The 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan is reliable crossoverwho does not chase trends. Instead, a large family car with a conservative design focuses on providing maximum passenger and driver safety.

5. Geely FY11

The new sports car, which in the Chinese market has a different name - Xing Yue - promises to be one of the most inexpensive crossovers of 2020.
Under the hood of the model, which will go on sale in Russia, there is a 1.8-liter petrol engine providing 133 hp. and 170 Nm of torque to the front wheels. The basic version of the Comfort Geely FY11 is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission. And in the Luxury configuration - a six-speed "robot" with two clutches, cruise control and an electromechanical handbrake with the AUTO HOLD function (automatic hold of the car).
Both versions are equipped with air conditioning that automatically adjusts the temperature in the cabin, heated front and rear seats, good parking sensors and an advanced audio system with USB and Bluetooth. What can you say here? We must take!
4. Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 2020

Among the advantages of Pajero Sport 2020 is a new multimedia system with a large screen and the replacement of traditional instruments in the cabin with a more convenient and informative screen.
Also immediately noticeable is the elegant "two-story" front optics. On the "top floor" there are LED headlights, and on the "ground floor" there are fog lights and turn signals. Changes have been made to such elements as the bonnet, grille, bumpers, front fenders and even the tailgate, on which a spoiler appeared.
3. Honda CR-V 2020

The interior of the updated crossover has a center console with wireless smartphone charging and two USB ports.
But the most noticeable changes have undergone the exterior of the CR-V, here you also have darkened taillights and large windows with chrome frames and trapezoidal tailpipes and bumpers with large chrome inserts.
Base trim now comes with a turbocharged 1.5-liter petrol engine previously standard on all other trim levels. And the previous base 2.4-liter version is no longer available.
There is also a hybrid version with a power plant based on a 2-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor with a total output of 212 hp. But she is unlikely to be brought to Russia.
2. DS7 Crossback

It has been almost two years since the premiere of the premium French crossover DS7 Crossback with an engine ranging from 130 to 180 hp. in a diesel engine and up to 225 hp in gasoline.
When the car finally arrives in Russia, it will compete with elite cars such as the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC. In the diesel version, it will be sold with a two-liter 180 hp BlueHDi turbodiesel. in combination with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
But the petrol 1.6-liter engine was slightly "screwed" - with 165 hp. up to 150 hp, although it has the same maximum torque - 240 Nm. A 6-speed automatic transmission works in tandem with the motor.The DS7 Crossback will have front-wheel drive only.
1. Opel Grandland X

The mid-size five-seater crossover, despite its foreign roots, will be a purebred Russian "by birth". After all, they plan to produce it at a plant in Kaluga.
Russian buyers will receive a front-wheel drive version with a 1.6-liter gasoline turbo engine and 120 hp. or a 2-liter diesel engine with 177 hp. But the month and even the exact sales price of the most anticipated 2020 crossover is still unknown.
