And to select the best of the best, experts from the Spanish Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) examined the average lifespan and reliability of large household appliances from the most popular brands in Europe. For this, the experience of over 90,000 consumers from different countries of the European Union was systematized, who named the type and brand of their household appliances, and also spoke about the number of breakdowns and the general level of satisfaction with these devices.
Based on the research results, a rating of the most reliable manufacturers of household appliances of 2020 was compiled.
10. Thomson
OCU gave this brand the honorable third place in the "longevity" of refrigerators - 12 years and 11 months. Only Zanussi and Miele have better performance. However, in other categories, the brand's products are not represented, therefore, it was in tenth place.
9. General Electric
The American corporation strives to bring convenience to consumers' homes with its functional and durable refrigerators that last 12 years and 8 months on average.
And although this brand was among the outsiders in terms of the durability of washing machines (10 years and 8 months), it managed to rehabilitate itself in the category of “dishwashers” (10 years and 8 months).
8. Smeg
The Italian home appliance manufacturer ranked among the top 10 most trusted brands in 2020 for its superior washing machines that last 11 years and 6 months on average.
The dishwashers of this brand are also characterized by impressive durability - on average 11 years.
Smeg was also in the top five brands, whose household appliances break down the least often. What can you say here? We must take!
7. Bosch
The Bosch brand is especially good at making hobs, gas stoves, as well as refrigerators, dishwashers and washing machines.
The strengths of the company are the many useful features and low prices compared to other brands. This makes their products a good choice for buyers who want budget appliances that do their job flawlessly.
6. AEG
One of the best German brands offering high quality dishwashers, refrigerators and other household appliances. If you decide to furnish your kitchen with the latest technology and at an affordable price, then AEG products are the smart choice.

Indeed, according to a survey of European consumers, the Sharp brand, along with Beko, produces equipment that very rarely breaks down. He has the highest score for refrigerator reliability.

And, as noted by the OCU researchers, in terms of the frequency of breakdowns of washing machines, dryers, dishwashers and refrigerators, the Beko brand is one of the most reliable manufacturers of household appliances in the world.

This brand manufactures reliable and long-lasting household appliances. Users rarely complain about the breakdown of dishwashers, washing machines, dryers and refrigerators of this brand.
2. Zanussi
It is one of the very best home appliance brands when it comes to washing machine lifespan. According to the conclusions of OCU experts, washing machines of this brand live on average 11 years and 3 months.
Curiously, the brand that produces the longest-lived equipment and the most reliable equipment is not necessarily the same. So, although Zanussi produces long-lived washing machines and dishwashers, it does not occupy the first place in the reliability table in terms of the number of breakdowns.
1. Miele
The German brand Miele was selected as the leader in durability in all analyzed categories: washing machines, refrigerators, dryers and dishwashers.
Miele refrigerators last on average 13 years and 1 month, washing machines last even longer - 15 years and 10 months, dishwashers last over 14.5 years, and dryers - 15 years and 4 months.
There is only one drawback of this brand's household appliances: since Miele products are usually high-end, they are more expensive than competitors.

- In terms of reliability, measured in terms of frequency and severity of breakdowns, Sharp, Neff and Saivod came out on top in the refrigerator category.

In terms of the most common breakdowns, the most common washing machine problem faced by consumers was associated with doors and closing systems. In second place is the breakdown of filter buttons or programs.
Dryers usually suffer from breakdowns in the drying mechanism; refrigerators - from malfunctions in the automatic defrosting system, and dishwasher owners complain of problems with water circulation.
