The comedy, in which the main roles were played by three "mastodons" of Russian cinema - Oleg Tabakov, Valentin Gaft and Lev Durov - tells the story of a young girl Nastya, who published a letter to her mother to a certain Pavel. And on New Year's Eve, three Pauls appear in Nastya's house at once. Each of them is a bright and complex personality, each wants Nastya to be his daughter ...

A feature of this movie is the great dialogues. Those who are accustomed to dynamic pictures with rapidly changing plots may be disappointed.However, those who feel nostalgia for the atmosphere of the 80s and who like songs based on poems by Boris Pasternak will surely be delighted with the "Old New Year". In this comedy, there is a place for family showdowns, subtle humor, and many comic situations and worldly wisdom.
6. Zigzag of luck
If the comedy was shot by Eldar Ryazanov, and Yevgeny Leonov and Yevgeny Evstigneev starred, then this is a win-win combination, simply doomed to success.
The main character of the film, Volodya Oreshnikov, dreams of becoming a famous photographer and buying a camera. On Christmas night, evil walks the earth. Well, not evil, but so, a petty demon, and not on the ground, but in the sky, and not so much walking as sitting in the bag of the insidious witch Solokha. However, Solokha's son, the blacksmith Vakula, has more serious problems than the devil. He is in love with the beautiful Oksana, and she promises to marry him only in exchange for the shoes worn by the queen. And the evil accidentally discovered in the bag will have to serve the good willy-nilly.
It is curious that the cartoon "Christmas Eve", about Vakula and the devil, entered the list of the best New Year cartoons.
1. Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!
Opinions about this comedy about the adventures of the doctor Zhenya Lukashin, who were accidentally sent to another city by very drunk friends, were divided among the audience.Some consider "The Irony of Fate" to be a beautiful fairy tale about finding love on New Year's Eve, on which the most incredible miracles are possible. For them, this film is as obligatory an attribute of the New Year as the Olivier salad and the Christmas tree. Others believe that this tape is no longer a comedy but a dramatic one, because for the sake of early love for one woman, Zhenya betrayed another, with whom he had a relationship for two whole years.

By the way, on December 31, 2017, Channel One for the first time in ten years will not show The Irony of Fate, having ceded this right to Russia 1. This is reported by "Lenta.ru", referring to the representative of VGTRK Victoria Arutyunova. A source close to the management of Channel One told Lenta.ru that the show was canceled due to the fact that the rights to it expired.
In the rating of the best Russian comedies about the New Year, films made in the USSR are in the lead. And many of them were shot by the famous Eldar Ryazanov. You can treat the past Soviet Union in different ways, but it cannot be denied that during its existence they shot an excellent movie, kind, giving faith in a miracle, with good acting and dialogues that "went to the people."
