Rating of the most dangerous roads in Russia

The department of the All-Russia People's Front "People's Expertise" based on the statistics of the traffic police of the Russian Federation for 2015 made a rating of the ten most dangerous cities in terms of drivers. It is based on the number of fatal road accidents per 100,000 people. However, the ONF does not intend to limit itself to analyzing statistics: a project called “Map of Life” has been created, which will operate throughout the country from November 1. Its purpose is to control the condition of roads to identify dangerous sections and eliminate the causes of accidents.

Introducing you ten Russian cities with the most dangerous roadsincluded in the rating.

10. Volgograd

q525npp1The capital of the Volgograd region is located at the intersection of several major highways. The three highways that cross Volgograd in length are actually just a chain of streets. There are no bypass roads for transit transport (with few exceptions), which forces loaded trucks to move through urban areas. The mortality rate per 100 thousand urban population was 5.1.

9. Krasnoyarsk

wlncf32jThe number of road accidents with fatalities in Krasnoyarsk is the same as in Volgograd. Both cities are experiencing similar problems - the lack of circular trunk roads forces traffic flows through the city, and high motorization (Krasnoyarsk got the second place in the Russian Federation in the number of cars per thousand citizens) causes huge traffic jams, complicated by the insufficient number and passability of road bridges across the Yenisei River.

8. Voronezh

whzjzr3tAn analysis of the state of the road network in Voronezh showed that at least four out of every five roads are in unsatisfactory condition. The lack of modern junctions and narrow streets contribute to dangerous traffic situations. The mortality rate is 6.0 per 100 thousand people.

7. Omsk

czvzgcnqOmsk suffers from the terrible quality of the roads, which was shown by the traffic police raid in the Omsk region in early 2015. According to its results, about three dozen administrative cases were initiated. The number of deaths is 6.2 per 100 thousand people.

6. Irkutsk

b4hj2ffkAccording to the head of the UGIBDD department in the region V. Stupin, bad roads are the cause of 43% of road accidents in the city and region. When leaving at the scene of an accident, traffic police officers discover poorly distinguishable markings, the absence of road signs and defects in the roadway caused by winter. The death rate was 6.5 per 100 thousand people.

5. Kemerovo

yrvafwwrSome of the most dangerous routes in Russia run through this city. There are several sections in Kemerovo where cars collide one and a half, two, or even as much as seventeen times more often than in other places. Mortality statistics - 6.6 per 100 thousand people.

4. Makhachkala

urgi5bakAccording to the head of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Republic of Dagestan, most accidents in Makhachkala occur due to speeding, and it is mainly pedestrians who suffer - about 80% of all accidents are collisions with them. About 20% of accident victims are children. Mortality statistics - 6.7 per hundred thousand people.

3. Perm

0stk0ni0Most often, collisions of vehicles (41.7%) and collisions with pedestrians (28.4%) occur in Perm. One of the possible reasons is the unsatisfactory condition of the roads due to the deformation of the roadway due to climatic features and specific soil structure. The death rate is 6.8 per 100 thousand people.

2. Lipetsk

atbh0ku5Due to the intensive development of the region, the Lipetsk ring road with modern interchanges is being built. This will reduce the load on the transport and road network and, possibly, reduce the number of accidents. So far, the death rate on the roads of Lipetsk is 6.9 per 100 thousand population.

1. Krasnodar

lzjcjvvxThe granary of the Kuban topped the top 10 Russian settlements with the most dangerous roads. And all because of the undisciplined drivers of the Krasnodar Territory. They drive into the oncoming lane, recklessly, ignore traffic lights, drive drunk, and also like to write sms and talk on the phone while driving. Accidents caused by the failure of an old car have also become more frequent. The rate of fatalities of road users is 7.1 per 100 thousand citizens.
