10. "UniCredit Bank"

The only "European" in this top Russian banks in terms of reliability in 2016, began its existence in 1989 as the "International Moscow Bank". In 2007, 100% of the bank's shares became owned by the large Italian financial company UniCredit Group, and it changed its name to the current one. By the way, the largest shareholder of this Italian organization is Aabar Investments PJS, a company registered in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. UniCredit Bank ranks 10th in terms of assets, 12th in terms of loans, and 23rd in terms of deposits.

This bank was founded in 1995, and in 2014 was included in the list of systemically important banks by the Central Bank.In terms of assets and deposits, Promsvyazbank is in ninth place, and in terms of loans - in twenty-first out of the top 100 largest.

8. "Credit Bank of Moscow"

MKB appeared in 1992 and after three years got into the most influential banks in Russia. It opens the reliability rating thanks to the successful overcoming of the 2008 crisis, entering the top 10 in terms of assets, top 11 in loans and top 12 in terms of deposits.

7. Alfa-Bank

Alfa-Bank was able to survive during the 2004 crisis (although the shareholders had to help the bank to stay afloat with their personal funds) - perhaps it will be able to move through our difficult times. In the top 50 banks in Russia in terms of reliability in 2016, the largest private bank in the Russian Federation is in seventh place in terms of assets, loans and deposits.

6. "Rosselkhozbank"

Another "state-owned" bank, included in the rating of banks reliability 2016 according to the Central Bank. The order to create it was given by the President of Russia specifically to serve the needs of the agrarian industry. The bank ranks sixth in terms of assets, and fourth in terms of deposits and loans.

5. Bank FC "Otkrytie"

This bank was known under the name "Karina-Bank", then it became the "Russian Development Bank" and did not survive the 2008 financial crisis. The remainders were bought by Otkritie Holding Corporation - perhaps the largest financial group in the country with total assets of more than 2 trillion rubles. In terms of assets, the bank is in fifth place, but in terms of deposits - in eighth, and in terms of loans - in 40th place.

4. "VTB 24"

Bank VTB 24 is the heir of Guta Bank, which died untimely during the 2004 financial crisis. It was bought by JSC VTB Bank, an organization founded in the early 90s by the USSR Ministry of Finance for the needs of the country's foreign trade. Now "Central Bank" owns 61% of the shares of "VTB Bank", and the latter is the sole shareholder of "VTB 24". The bank ranks fourth in terms of assets, but in terms of reliability and profitability of deposits and loans are second only to Sberbank.

3. Gazprombank

The third place in the list of banks in 2016 according to the Central Bank is occupied by Gazprombank, a representative of the holding of the same name. In terms of assets, it is second only to the first place, and in terms of deposits and loans, it takes a confident third place. Potentially, Gazprombank's clients can only be threatened by one thing - that bank employees will transfer money to them by mistake (in 2008, 4 billion rubles were transferred to the account of one policeman).

2. VTB Bank of Moscow

This brainchild of former Moscow Mayor Luzhkov was founded in 1995 as a Moscow municipal bank, and in 2011 it was privatized. The largest block of shares in the Bank of Moscow belongs to VTB Bank. In terms of assets, the bank ranks second, in terms of loans and deposits - fifth, in mortgage banks rating – 4.
