Best Countries for Doing Business, World Bank Ranking

World Bank experts named the best countries where it is easiest for entrepreneurs to do business. Places in the rating are arranged according to the degree of convenience for doing business - for example, in such a country a company will be quickly registered, reporting can be done without unnecessary bureaucratic red tape, and the legislation is clear, transparent and friendly to the entrepreneur. The World Bank analyzed the work of 130,000 entrepreneurs from 139 countries. Top countries to do business ranked on 10 points, each of which was calculated according to several indicators; the lower the score, the more convenience the entrepreneur has.

Russia is in the first quarter of the list - in 40th place. The hardest thing in Russia to get the right to build - 115th place, and the easiest - to register property (9th place).

10. Macedonia

Reliable offshore zones appeared in Macedonia only a couple of years ago, but the country's government is trying to make life as easy as possible for entrepreneurs. 5 out of 10 indicators scored from 4 to 16 points, and the rest of the Macedonians still have to work on. Especially over the registration of real estate - it is quite difficult in Macedonia and received 48 points.

9.Sweden

In general, the picture in Sweden looks rather favorable for the entrepreneur - all indicators are, if not in the top ten. then exactly in the second. Only a very low opportunity to get a loan stands out from the overall prosperous picture - it scored 75 points.

8. USA

The USA is a country of contrasts. If there you can easily get a loan (2 points) and declare yourself bankrupt (5 points), but getting a building permit will require much more time and effort - this indicator has 39 points. The American tax legislation, the provision of production or office with electricity and communications, as well as the registration of property are also not encouraging - all these indicators scored 36 points. The most difficult thing is to start your own business in the USA - numerous obstacles on the way of entrepreneurs scored 51 points from the experts.

7.UK

All aspects of entrepreneurial activity in the UK received approximately the same number of points - from 6 to 31. Against the general background, only real estate registration stands out, which in England costs entrepreneurs with sweat, blood and tears; not without reason she received 47 points. And in the future, this figure seems to only get worse.

6. Norway

Indicators in most developed country - Norway generally favorable and, as a rule, ranked in the first or second ten. Here it is enough to simply provide an office or production with electricity and communications (12 points), register a property (14 points), and the protection of minority investors in general received only 9 points. But for those businessmen who want to get a loan, Norway will have a hard time - this point scored 75 points. However, judging by the dynamics of development, Norway will try to compensate for this shortcoming in the near future.

5. South Korea

South Korea's performance shows a contradictory picture - some aspects of entrepreneurial activity here are very simple and go from 1 to 5, and some are very complex. It is difficult in Korea for those who want to obtain a building permit (31 points), register a property (39 points) and get a loan (44 points). And it is not so easy to pay taxes - this indicator received 23 points.

4. Hong Kong

Most of Hong Kong's indicators are in the top ten - it is very easy to start your own business, get a building permit, provide the company with electricity and communications and pay taxes - all these indicators are in the top five. Only real estate registration makes life difficult for Hong Kong and foreign entrepreneurs - it is extremely unfriendly to businessmen and received 61 points.

3. Denmark

One of the most prosperous European countries is very convenient for doing business. The most difficult thing in Denmark to get a loan - this indicator received a rather low score of 32, although it is much lower than that of other Scandinavian countries in the top 10. Apparently, the harsh descendants of the Vikings are reluctant to share their wealth, even at interest. And the rest of the indicators are located, if not in the first ten, then certainly in the second.

2. Singapore

This is an offshore zone where everything is subject to attracting more and more new entrepreneurs. The general indicators of Singapore are rather small, most of them scored from 1 to 10 points, but there are exceptions - for example, the degree of convenience of declaring a company insolvent was estimated at 29 points.

1. New Zealand

And the first place in the ranking of the best states for doing business went to a small country with a population of only 4.5 million citizens. According to the authors of the rating, paying taxes in New Zealand is as easy as buying a carton of milk. It is easiest to organize your business here - in half of the indicators, the country of kiwi and Maori takes the honorable first place. However, this cloudless paradise for businessmen has its drawbacks - for example, the convenience of organizing international trade. This indicator is the lowest in New Zealand and is in 55th place.
