Find a good director and a great cast, add a lot of money, and let the plot get as weird as possible. And get one of the most addicting and quirky horror movies of 2019.

Jake Gyllenhaal as art critic, Toni Collette as avaricious art buyer, Rene Russo as the domineering art gallery owner, and Zaveh Ashton as her ambitious assistant are at the center of a confusing story. In the apartment of the deceased artist, a cache of magnificent paintings is discovered, which the owner tried to destroy before his death. And while the heroes are in pursuit of profit and flight from death, the audience will find a wonderful mixture of satire and horror.

3. Happy new day of death

Happy new day of deathRating Movie Search: 6.2 out of 10
IMDB rating: 6.8 out of 10
Genre: horror, fantasy, detective
Country: USA
Producer: Christopher Landon
Music: Bear McCreery
Duration: 100 minutes

The new film repeats some of the good moments from the first part, but with even more extravagant and curious situations. And all thanks to the introduction of parallel reality into the plot.

It goes without saying that in this reality events did not develop the same way as in ours, so the main character Three (Jessica Roth) now cannot predict who is the mysterious maniac who killed her over and over again, "restarting" her birthday, like in a creepy version of Groundhog Day.

Although Happy New Day of Death is a predominantly black comedy, it leaves audiences horrified. Only for a short time, so you can safely watch this film with a friend or girlfriend who hates classic horror films.

2. We

weRating Movie Search: 6.5 out of 10
IMDB rating: 7.3 out of 10
Genre: horror, thriller
Country: USA, Japan

Music: Michael Ebels
Duration: 116 minutes

The Wilson family arrives at their beach house, expecting a good time. But as night falls, the calmness of children and parents turns into tension and chaos when uninvited guests come to their house with clearly ill intentions.

This horror movie was directed by Jordan Peel, who knows how to keep the audience in awe and tension throughout the film. And "We" is a vivid example of this, an unkind and uncomfortable fairy tale with a social connotation, excellent acting and a high-quality soundtrack. All these ingredients will provide you with a powerful effect of presence ... and possibly neurosis, if you are impressionable enough.

1. Claustrophobes

Claustrophobes - Best Horror Movie of 2019Rating Movie Search: 6.6 out of 10
IMDB rating: 6.4 out of 10
Genre: horror, thriller
Country: USA, South Africa
Producer: Adam Robitel
Music: John Carey, Brian Tyler
Duration: 99 minutes

A group of unfamiliar people gets involved in a quest with deadly traps. You already know a similar plot. Grab the Hostel, some Cuba, and most of the Saw, and take full advantage of what Claustrophobes has to offer.

And yet, despite its rather trivial beginning, this horror can please with a decent amount of tricky twists, screamers, and, of course, kills. Each character is interesting in its own right, but the dynamics of the group as a whole is so strong that you can't help but root for them, which makes Claustrophobes an intense and engaging film.
