The struggle to reduce harmful CO2 emissions into the atmosphere has been going on for a long time, and it is in the automotive industry that huge efforts are being made in this direction.
Over the past couple of years, there has been a real breakthrough in the production of hybrid cars and electric vehicles. While many of them have not yet gone into series production, the reported CO2 levels are impressive.
10. BMW 5 Series ActiveHybrid (CO2 level 149 g / km)
This "sporty hybrid" allows you to enjoy aggressive driving, but at the same time emissions are 16% less than the gasoline sibling of the BMW 535i. The main engine is a twin-turbo twin-turbo twin-turbo six-cylinder powered by an electric motor. The minimum cost of ActiveHybrid 5 is 57 thousand Euro, which is not much higher than that of a gasoline car.

The eco-friendly and powerful car runs on an impressive base: a 215-horsepower turbodiesel paired with a 50 kW electric motor. A car can travel 50 kilometers without exhaust. Volvo accelerates to "hundreds" in 7 seconds and costs about 57 thousand Euros. The V60 Plug-in Hybrid is slated to go on sale in Fall 2012.
3. Vauxhall Ampera (CO2 level - 27 g / km)
The car is essentially a copy of the Opel Ampera and Chevy Volt. The power of the power plant is 110 kW. In autonomous mode the car can drive about 60 km, and together with an internal combustion engine - all 500 km. The cost of a car is about 35 thousand Euros.

Cars with an electric motor are the absolute leaders in the rating of environmentally friendly cars.
