In the thriller Alfonso Cuarona there are no flying saucers and epic battles with aliens, there are only astronauts in distress in orbit. Astronaut Matt Kowalski (George Clooney) and medical engineering specialist Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) are out of touch with Earth due to the destruction of the shuttle. It seems that all that remains for them is to orbit in outer space, not hoping for salvation.
Cuarón uses innovative visuals to achieve a zero gravity effect. The actors stood inside a three-meter box where an LED screen was placed. This allowed the actors to remain static, while the projected image could move around them. Then their faces were integrated into the CGI spacesuits. So in many of the Gravity scenes, only the faces of Bullock and Clooney are real in the frame.

To some viewers, Interstellar may seem drawn-out, and it also contains specific terminology about wormholes and black holes. However, for good science fiction, this is only a plus.
