6. Paris
More than 7% of the city's territory falls into the "black zone" with a noise level of over 70 dB. This is two and a half times more than in London or Berlin. And only 17% of the city area is assigned to the acoustic comfort zone with a maximum noise level of up to 55 dB. Moreover, if in the morning the city is noisy due to the traffic flow, then in the evenings in Paris crowds of tourists “buzz”, music plays and fountains murmur.
5. Warsaw
One of cities with the longest traffic jams... In 2008, the authorities in the Polish capital developed a seven-year plan to combat noise in the streets. The city is actively laying new tram lines, which are much less noisy in comparison with traditional ones, and also installing sound barriers.
Nevertheless, Polish doctors say that the inhabitants of Warsaw have every reason to go to court and demand compensation for their health damaged by the noise.
