Most Reliable Cars 2016, TÜV Rating

There is a Chinese saying: "A journey of a thousand li begins with one step".

Choosing a reliable car brand for a motorist is just one step in purchasing a vehicle, but it is perhaps the most important one. After all, driving a car prone to frequent breakdowns means endangering not only yourself, but also passengers and even pedestrians. This is why the German technical control organization TÜV Rheinland (TÜV), with over 800 branches worldwide, conducts an annual survey to identify the most reliable cars.

Mercedes B-class got the gold in the rating of the most reliable cars in the 2-3-year category. What is good for Germans who are stingy with praise is also good for Russians in this case. This car can be recommended to those who are looking for the most reliable car for Russia.

The most reliable aftermarket car in the 4-5 year group is the Audi A1. The cars of the German company Porcshe and the Japanese Toyota took the first and second places among the most reliable cars in 2016 (the rating of cars is from six to seven, from eight to nine and from ten to eleven years).

The TUV report for 2016 notes that every fourth to fifth car has to undergo a technical inspection again, due to serious malfunctions identified. Most often, inspectors find faults in the lighting. Also, the inspectors complained about frequent malfunctions in the chassis, problems with the brakes and oil leakage in the engine. But rust is practically not found.

The older the car, the more extensive its list of problems. For different brands of cars of small "age" (2-3 years), the number of faults detected during technical inspection does not exceed 7.8%.But for expensive and budget used cars, whose service life is 10-11 years, the number of faults was 31.4%. TUV experts recommend not neglecting regular inspections and monitoring the quality of the selected service station.
