Thanks to the development of modern engineering, the driver is comfortable and comfortable on the road. In part, this is facilitated by various accessories with which manufacturers equip a car.
Among these accessories are necessary (spare wheel, jack, first aid kit, fire extinguisher) and useful (auto air conditioners, mini vacuum cleaners, portable refrigerators). But there are those, the acquisition of which is not justified by the urgent need, they are absolutely useless for the driver and his passengers, and sometimes dangerous.
1. "Rear wing"
On many passenger cars, you can see a design that is called "wing". Initially, it was intended to make the car more stable when cornering and by changing aerodynamic parameters to increase its speed. Such "wings" found their application in racing, and from there they migrated to ordinary cars. But if racing designers make parts for each specific car, conducting aerodynamic tests, then mass manufacturers sell ordinary pieces of plastic that do not affect the speed characteristics of the car in any way. Therefore, all that the "rear wing" is capable of is to attract the attention of others and close the rear view.
2. "Kenguryatnik"
In second place are "kengurins". These are metal structures that are attached to the hood of a car. They come from Australia, where kangaroos often cross the road to drivers. To protect the car from damage, metal "kangarins" were developed. Naturally, in Russia, kangaroos do not run on the roads, you can meet them only in the zoo. But in the event of a collision with another car, the fancy hood will come into a state that is not proper for repair. There is a high likelihood of damage to the windshield and injury to the driver and passengers.
3. Hood deflector
Ordinary drivers have a lot of worries. They need to keep the cars in good working order, carry out technical inspections and regular repairs of air conditioners, engines, wiring and numerous other parts and devices. But accessories makers don't want to leave motorists alone and offer them a hood deflector. In theory, the deflector should redirect airflow from the windshield over the roof, helping to maintain cleanliness. In fact, water and sand simply accumulate in it, destroying the paintwork of the hood.
4. Sports muffler
Finally, a sports muffler, designed to compensate for the loss of engine power. Not only is there really nowhere in the city to properly accelerate, but also the sound emitted by this device is so loud and annoying that its owner will not be deprived of appropriate responses from others.
There are many more useless car accessories out there, and it's a good idea to consult a professional before purchasing them.
