Experts from the German company Auto Bild have named the most reliable crossovers in 2020 on the European market. Strictly speaking, their long-term rating has been conducted from 2014 to the present. The tests involved cars that covered 100,000 kilometers in one to three years.
Every failure, every defect was noted by test drivers and ultimately influenced the assessment of the car. The same applies to the state in which the vehicle was after 100,000 kilometers. To assess this, the car was disassembled and checked for wear.
10. Peugeot 2008
The price tag for the minimum package is 1.2 million rubles.
A comfortable and practical crossover with a 1.6-liter diesel engine, it flew 100,000 kilometers without any breakdowns and almost without complaints from drivers and Auto Bild experts.
The only drawback: due to rattling sounds, the workshop replaced the front shock absorbers under warranty. The rest of the mechanics examined the "hundred thousandth" Peugeot 2008 only for the purpose of a preventive check.
9. Fiat 500X
Not officially sold in Russia.
This mini SUV offers a lot from an external and technical point of view. It looks stylish and dynamic enough to be a suitable machine for both men and women. The interior is spacious enough to accommodate a family of 4. It is possible from 5, but it will not be so comfortable.
The main advantage of the Fiat 500X is a large selection of engines, ranging from 1.4-liter petrol with 140 or 170 hp. and ending with diesel engines of 1.3 liters (95 hp) or 1.6 liters (120 or 140 hp).
And after 100,000 kilometers, the researchers of the German edition did not reveal any significant flaws in the Fiat 500X.

But let's forgive them the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross, since it has managed to become one of the most reliable crossovers in Europe.
7. Mazda CX-5 Skyactiv-D

Japanese handsome crossover with AWD-drive and a strong 2.2-liter diesel engine performed well except for a couple of minor problems. The first was that the dealer did not update the software during maintenance, which is why a timely warning about the need to change the engine oil did not appear.
The second was due to the incorrect installation of the brake pads, which caused problems with the front brake. However, all these problems are human factors, not the machine's fault.
6. Hyundai Tucson

Having disassembled the car after 100,000 kilometers, Auto Bild employees did not find any significant wear.In addition, they noted the efficiency of the car with a 2-liter diesel engine. Of course, 7.3 liters per 100 km does not seem to be commendable compared to the factory specification (4.2 liters / 100 km), but it should be borne in mind that the Tucson traveled most of its 100,000 kilometers while driving fast on the freeway.
5. BMW X1 xDrive 20i

A high-quality compact crossover with all-wheel drive and 192 hp gasoline engine, it was able to meet all the high demands of auto experts in the endurance test. One hundred thousand kilometers for him is just a warm-up.

This solid crossover justifies the high price tag with its exemplary reliability. Its three main advantages are drive, spaciousness and long-term quality. Auto Bild tested a model with a 190-horsepower D4 diesel engine.
The experts noted that even at the end of the test, the interior of the car looked as good as new, thanks to the high quality materials, which, moreover, can be easily cleaned. There is a lot of space inside the Volvo XC60, and even long-legged passengers do not have to ride with their knees to their chest. Unsurprisingly, the XC60 is a popular touring vehicle.
3. KIA Sportage
The minimum price for the diesel version is 1.9 million rubles.
The diesel version of this crossover with a 2.0-liter CRDi engine can withstand 100,000 kilometers without breaking. The Sportage was found to be virtually unworn after final inspection. For which he received a well-deserved third place in the ranking of the most reliable crossovers.
2. Volkswagen Tiguan

The reliable German crossover with 4Motion all-wheel drive and a 2.0-liter TSI turbocharged gasoline engine easily covered 100,000 kilometers without breakdowns or any significant problems.
Not without criticism. The touchscreen gets dirty quickly, the noise isolation isn't perfect, and the automatic robotic transmission (DSG) didn't run smoothly. However, all this can be forgiven due to the large margin of safety, excellent performance and increased comfort of the Volkswagen Tiguan.
1. SEAT Ateca
The model is not sold on the Russian market.
The best crossover in terms of reliability, equipped with a 1.4-liter TSI turbo engine, crossed the 100,000 km mark without any disruption.
Its weak point is the ergonomics of the driver's seat. Here, Seat seems to save some money compared to the Wolfsburg models because after long journeys, several drivers complained of back pain.
However, it was not possible to disassemble SEAT Ateca for Auto Bild parts. This procedure was to be carried out at Seat's Spanish headquarters. But the coronavirus has made Spain temporarily inaccessible to visitors. Therefore, Ateca continues its endurance testing and winds additional kilometers on the speedometer.
