The increase in the scrappage rate has led to the fact that new cars in Russia have risen in price by 3-5% since January 1, 2020. In these conditions, many Russians simply do not have enough money for a new luxury iron horse, and they have to consider simpler options.
Analysts of the Price Auto agency decided to make it easier for motorists to choose the flour, and made the top 10 most affordable sedans in Russia in 2020.
Please note: all prices are shown without discounts, so if you wish, you can buy any of the cars from this rating even cheaper.
10. KIA Rio
Can be purchased for 784,900 rubles.
This sedan of the Korean brand and Russian assembly can often be seen on Russian roads. Its popularity is due to both its attractive price and attractive appearance, and a very generous basic package, which includes:
- air conditioning;
- electric power steering;
- speaker system with 4 speakers;
- anti-lock braking system (ABS);
- exchange rate stability system;
- help system when starting off the car on the rise;
- warning system for other drivers about emergency braking.
The new "KIA Rio" 2019-2020 in the Classic configuration is equipped with a 1.4-liter engine with a capacity of 100 hp. as well as a 6-speed manual transmission.
Weaknesses: the Korean state employee's sound insulation is lame, and the driving performance is not the best, but at such a price, all these shortcomings are forgivable.
9. Geely Emgrand 7
The average price is 765,000 rubles.
This Chinese sedan looks a lot more expensive than it costs. The base Standard is equipped with air conditioning, a 2-speaker audio system, electric / heated side mirrors, integrated turn signals, ABS + EBD, rear parking sensors and power windows.
The base engine is a 1.5-liter 103 hp engine, but there is a more expensive version with a 1.8-liter 133 hp engine.
Weaknesses: The paintwork is very thin. If you want your car to last for a long time, immediately after purchase, do anti-corrosion treatment of the body. Also, the owners of Geely Emgrand 7 are advised to put the rear license plate frame on double-sided tape, as it gradually wipes off the paint, and the trunk lid begins to rust.
8. Hyundai Solaris
You can buy it for 756,000 rubles.
Even in the simplest Active configuration, this inexpensive and good sedan is able to pleasantly surprise.
It is equipped with several driver assistance systems including:
- HAC (slope assistance system);
- VSM (active control system);
- rear driver warning system during emergency braking.
- Of course, there are already traditional ABS + EBD for modern car models, as well as an anti-slip system.
The initial version is equipped with a 1.4 liter petrol engine with a capacity of 100 hp.
Weaknesses: not the best acoustic comfort, especially at a speed of 100 km / h and above, swings heavily on bumps, a noticeable loss of power if the air conditioner is running. However, the latter drawback is typical for most budget cars.
7. Volkswagen Polo
On the Russian car market it costs 699,900 rubles.
If Chinese and Korean cars don't appeal to you, how about a reliable and popular German? One of the cheapest sedans on the Russian car market in 2020 was the Volkswagen Polo, which is also available in hatchback and station wagon bodies.
Now car dealers offer the 2019 Volkswagen Polo in 4 available trim levels. The cheapest of these is called Conceptline and includes a remote control central locking system, an on-board computer displaying, among other things, tire pressure and temperature of technical fluids, as well as air conditioning, ABS and a 4-speaker audio system.
Weaknesses: weak radio antenna, so communication in the city can be periodically lost, at high volume the acoustics begins to "choke".
6. Ravon R4
Offered for 659,000 rubles.
The Ravon car brand belongs to the Uzbek company GM Uzbekistan, and the R4 model is a slightly modified version of the 2013 Chevrolet Cobalt.
The simplest Comfort equipment has a braking system with ABS, crankcase protection, immobilizer, power steering, radio-assisted audio system and heating (no air conditioning).
The "heart" of this big-eyed iron horse is a 4-cylinder 1.5-liter "atmospheric" with a maximum power of 106 horsepower. In general, the Ravon is one of the best budget sedans in Russia, thanks to a spacious 560 liter trunk, a spacious interior, a high seating position and unpretentious maintenance. Anti-corrosion body treatment and sound insulation are surprisingly good for the price of a car.
Weaknesses: Roll and prone to roll when cornering, the quality of materials in the cabin leaves much to be desired.
5. Ravon Nexia R3
Price - from 639,000 rubles.
The successor to the popular Nexia received a more ergonomic and comfortable interior, with excellent landing geometry and comfortable seats, a good 1.5-liter 106 hp engine, a 5-speed manual transmission or a modern six-speed automatic transmission from Chevrolet Cobalt (depending on configuration).
The initial Comfort package includes ABS and ESC, a tire pressure sensor, an immobilizer, a pedestrian protection system, a power steering and a 2-speaker audio system. Air conditioning is only available in more advanced versions.
The advantages of the Ravon Nexia R3 include a quiet interior, good visibility, reliable mechanics and a pretty exterior.
Weak points: the windshield and headlights are quickly covered with small chips, poor quality paintwork, many car owners complain that a whistle starts at high speed, probably from the left side mirror
4. LADA Vesta
You can become the owner of this car for 629,000 rubles.
The first, but not the only LADA in the list of the cheapest sedans in 2020 in Russia. The creators have worked hard to ensure that this car looks stylish and modern, from the body with "X" to such trifles as a shark fin antenna and frameless windshield wipers. It has good sound insulation, a roomy trunk, high ground clearance (171 mm) and good dynamics for a budget sedan.
In the basic configuration, LADA Vesta is equipped with a 1.6-liter 106-horsepower engine, driver and front passenger airbags, immobilizer, electric power steering, power windows, audio preparation and a large number of security systems, including:
- ABS;
- EBD;
- ESC;
- BAS;
- TCS;
- HSA.
Weaknesses: "Vesta" loves to "eat" oil and has a high fuel consumption - about 8.5 in the city and 7.6 on the highway. Also, in the cold, rubber door end switches often freeze.
3. Renault Logan
The cost of the sedan starts at 596,000 rubles.
One of the most popular sedans in Russia has not heard of any crisis in the automotive market. On the contrary, the manufacturing company is only actively increasing the rate of sales. If in 2018 135,208 Renault Logan units were sold in Russia, then in 2019 there were already 143,558 cars.
The love of Russian motorists for Renault Logan is due to both the reliability of this car and the relatively low price of spare parts, adaptation to Russian conditions, a spacious trunk of 510 liters and a good initial configuration.
It includes, in particular:
- driver's airbag;
- ABS;
- crankcase protection;
- power steering;
- heated rear window;
- electronic anti-theft device.
The 1.6-liter petrol engine varies in power from 82 hp. in the initial version up to 102. hp in the "average" and 113 hp in the most advanced version.
Weak points: side mirrors quickly get dirty due to their unsuccessful design, slow and often breaking automatic transmission, ill-conceived control ergonomics, which makes it difficult at first to figure out which button is responsible for what.
2. Datsun on-DO
The basic equipment costs 500,000 rubles.
This is one of those cars that can only be found cheaper on the secondary market. Despite its low price, the Datsun on-DO sedan boasts the presence of electric power steering, heated front seats, ABS + BAS + EBD already in the initial configuration.
Of course, for crazy races with its 1.6 engine (87 hp) it is hardly suitable, but for family trips to nature or everyday driving around the city - the very thing.
Weaknesses: according to the owners of Datsun on-DO, this car is "afraid of cold weather", locks begin to freeze at sub-zero temperatures. The door and hood seals are very weak, consider that they are practically nonexistent
1. LADA Granta
The price tag starts at 455,900 rubles.
Representative the most popular brand with manual transmission in Russia topped the list of the most affordable sedans in 2020. And even if this horse is not too playful (1.6-liter engine with 87 hp as standard), it is beautiful, quite comfortable and quite economical (6.8 liters in a combined cycle for every 100 km of track).
In the minimum configuration, LADA Granta has ABS, EBD and an auxiliary braking system, an immobilizer and audio preparation. Air conditioning, electric mirrors and electric power steering cannot be counted on, which, however, is not particularly surprising, given the price point at which sales of this car start.
Weak points: the handle responsible for adjusting the driver's seat often breaks, paint on the body is quickly wiped off, mediocre sound insulation.
