Cleanest cities in Russia 2019, Superjobs rating

Who can better assess the ecological state of the city better than its inhabitants? The Superjobs.ru portal shares this opinion, and therefore instructed its experts to interview residents to determine the most environmentally friendly city in Russia in 2019. After all, the cleaner the city, the more attractive it is for life and work.

The experts answered: "Yes!" and interviewed many people across the country, living in cities of 500 thousand people or more. This is how the ranking of the 10 cleanest cities in Russia in 2019 was compiled, according to their residents.

10. Penza

z2n5mzshThe list of the cleanest cities in Russia in 2019 is opened by the capital of the Penza region. 11% of the surveyed townspeople believe that the ecology in Penza is excellent, and 49% think that in general everything is in order with it, it could be worse.

Experts from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Greenpeace agree with the opinion of the residents. And wild animals agree with residents and experts, and live with pleasure in the forest belt, which is part of the city square. Yes, yes, not only hares, but also foxes and even elks live in Penza itself. And on the outskirts of the city, you can often see the silhouette of a soaring falcon in the sky.

In addition to the forest belt, the city boasts an abundance of parks, gardens, squares and boulevards, so you can breathe easily and freely in it. Moreover, in the city itself there is a climatic health resort!

However, not everything is so rosy. There is a chemical weapons disposal plant not far from the city, which of course adds to the anxiety of the people living nearby. And the population of the Oktyabrsky district of the city suffers from the presence of several industrial enterprises and, as usual, from the abundance of cars and associated exhaust emissions.

9. Ufa

vjm1cfksOne of the largest cities in Russia in length also boasts a favorable environment. 12% of townspeople are satisfied with the state of Ufa, and 47% are neutral.

A role in this was probably played by such factors as the area occupied by the city, low overcrowding and, as a result, low gas pollution from automobile exhaust.

And although there are several large industrial enterprises within the city limits, the city administration really cares about the environment. Ufa is one of the rare Russian cities where special attention is paid to the protection of nature. Therefore, despite the general industrial development of the region, the situation with emissions and wastewater is not only not deteriorating, but even improving.

And the great length makes it possible for the existence of a huge, by urban standards, number of green areas. The total area of gardens, parks, squares occupies almost a third of the city.

8. Vladivostok

of4bdqycAnd here is the first city where environmental experts categorically disagree with the opinion of residents about the environmental situation in the city.

Some residents (13%) think that the ecology in Vladivostok is good, and 45% believe that, in principle, everything is not bad. But experts believe that everything is bad with water and air in the city. No attention is paid to environmental measures in the city. And although after the beginning of perestroika, heavy industry in Vladivostok practically disappeared (which affected air quality), the consequences of its presence remained.

For example, at the site of the once thriving shipyards, the soil is contaminated with heavy metals. It will take more than a dozen years for it to return to normal. There is little public transport, people move by car, which gives an impressive share of emissions (60%) in air poisoning.

7. Novosibirsk

zihuy4uyIn terms of population, Novosibirsk is among the leaders throughout the Russian Federation. Despite the size and the fact that the city is an industrial and administrative center of the region, residents are generally satisfied with its ecological state. About 14% think everything is fine, and 45% are neutral about its purity.

Perhaps the favorable geographical position of the city plays a role here: it is perfectly blown by the winds, which scatter harmful substances from the atmosphere. And, of course, the measures taken by the administration affect:

  • Subbotniks on garbage collection and green space are regularly held;
  • the state of air and water is monitored;
  • water supply and heat supply systems are being modernized;
  • the treatment facilities of enterprises are being improved.

6. Barnaul

dcxkfq1lThe sixth place among the most environmentally friendly cities in Russia is Barnaul. Yes, the same city, which, according to the results of the research carried out by the experts of the Ministry of Natural Resources, is located in top ten cities with the dirtiest air.

However, residents do not agree with the assessment of the Ministry of Natural Resources. 14% enjoy the ecology of the city, and 53% believe that in general everything is in order.

Probably, the secret of such optimism lies in the fact that in Barnaul the living conditions in the regions are sharply different. If in one area residents do not risk hanging clothes from the windward side due to the abundance of private houses with stove heating, in another strong winds blow away all the smoke, dust and soot. If in the center of the city, located in a basin, the air pollution is extremely high, then residents of the outskirts next to the forest belt can enjoy the aromas of flowers and foliage.

And although things are not as good with the air in the city as we would like, with the water everything is in order. The city administration pays special attention to its cleaning.

5. Tomsk

0kgftkzqThis is a real mystery city. On the one hand, environmentalists are sounding the alarm about the massive felling of green spaces around the city. On the other hand, 17% of residents assessed the city's position as good, and 45% believe that everything in Tomsk is okay with the environment.

Although the capital of the Tomsk region has enough problems. The city is growing, it needs an area, so the city administration made a “wise” decision to build new buildings on the site of forests and squares, including in the already former recreational zone. And the already built cottages, without embarrassment, pour liquid waste onto the lands of forestry, arable land, orchards, and simply and banally into the rivers.

Unauthorized landfills spontaneously appear around the city, where unscrupulous entrepreneurs dump waste of both biological and industrial and household origin. True, in the last couple of years the administration has become concerned with environmental problems and now, like a two-faced Janus, he cuts forests with one hand and plants squares with the other. And they began to fight with the mountains of garbage.

4. Naberezhnye Chelny

zc0bzti3Although the city in Tatarstan is more than two thousand kilometers from the capital of the Tomsk region, residents assess the ecological situation in both cities in the same way. 17% of residents are satisfied, 45% think that everything is fine.

The main advantage of the city in terms of air condition is its territorial location. It is located in a place open to all winds, and although strong winds can create some discomfort in winter, the city is perfectly blown through. Even despite the abundance of industrial enterprises located in a ring around Naberezhnye Chelny; one of them is the automobile giant KAMAZ.

The water quality in the city is also good: its indicators are among the best in the region. Green spaces are not ideal, but the city administration is investing time and money in maintaining old green areas and creating new ones.

3. Kazan

iwn2ij4vThe inhabitants of this ancient city are very proud of it.From their point of view, Kazan opens the top three among the most environmentally friendly cities in Russia. 18% of residents believe that the ecology in Kazan is excellent, and 54% think that the state of affairs, although not brilliant, is quite tolerable.

Among cities with a population of over one million, this is the best result. Kazan suffers from the traditional diseases of large cities: air pollution, poor water, and low quantity and quality of green spaces.

But from the point of view of utilization of household and industrial waste, Kazan can serve as an example to many others - it is the only large city throughout Russia that single-handedly and completely utilizes and recycles its own waste.

2. Krasnodar

xppiihdwKrasnodar is in second place in the list of the cleanest cities in Russia. He, as they say, settled down well - exactly on the border of two climatic zones, mildly continental and subtropical.

The city is also located between the warm Black Sea and the cold mountain range, which causes the collision of air masses and strong winds. This, as we already know, means ventilation, which is always good for the city.

Perhaps it is the excellent climate of Krasnodar and the quality of the air that are the reason for the residents' good assessments of the city's ecology. 20% believe that everything is fine, and 50% think that, in principle, the state of Krasnodar is not bad.

However, as usual, experts disagree with them. And although, thanks to the winds, the inhabitants hardly notice the emissions, they still exist, and in large quantities. The air pollution is especially felt in summer, in industrial areas and, as usual, next to major transport arteries.

1. Tyumen

efzw0eroThe cleanest city in Russia in 2019, according to its residents, is becoming a large industrial Siberian city - Tyumen. As many as 39% of the respondents believe that the ecology there is excellent. And 44% said it was normal.

And that's just amazing for a city with an abundance of industrial enterprises, right? Moreover, most of them are engaged in oil and gas processing, there are also machine-building and shipbuilding plants.

What's the secret? In the position of the city and regional administration. Tyumen officials do pay attention to the environment. Garbage and waste are disposed of, wastewater is treated, trees are planted, businesses are instructed to use the most modern air cleaning equipment, and so on. The result, as they say, is obvious - in terms of the number of happy and ecologically satisfied residents of Tyumen, almost twice the results of the second place in the rating.

But the inhabitants called Chelyabinsk the most unfavorable city for life. Only 2% of respondents are satisfied with the environment, while 79% consider it bad.
