Experts from the Domofond real estate media portal asked themselves which cities in Russia are the richest in 2019. And we found the answer to it by interviewing 90 thousand people living in various parts of our homeland.
People were asked whether they were comfortable enough to live on their income, whether it was enough for basic necessities and even beyond that, and asked to rate their answer on a ten-point scale. In the country as a whole, the assessment of one's own financial well-being reached only 3.9 points.
10. Dolgoprudny, Moscow region
The ranking of the richest cities in Russia is opened by a small (112 thousand people), but a thriving city near Moscow. According to the results of the survey, it is only slightly behind such an urban giant as St. Petersburg.
Dolgoprudny is located just 18 km from Moscow, and it is clear that many of its residents work in Moscow, and only go home to spend the night. However, in the city itself there are enough enterprises, both industrial and from the service sector.
The population of Dolgoprudny does not forget about a healthy lifestyle. It is there that the federation of "walruses" is located - people who plunge into ice water for the sake of hardening in winter.
9. St. Petersburg
In 2019, only two million-plus cities were included in the ranking of the richest cities in Russia. Even residents of Kazan, traditionally proud of their city, did not make it into the top 10 in terms of their own financial well-being.
But Peter hit, albeit with a slight edge. Its residents believe that they live mediocre and give their standard of living an assessment of 4.9 points out of 10.
Like other megacities, St. Petersburg is considered a rather expensive city to live in, however, the level of salaries here is higher than in the country as a whole. According to statistics, an ordinary resident of the Northern capital receives about 51 thousand rubles a month. And if we add to this the unconditional cultural greatness of the city and the aura of intelligence that still surrounds its residents, it turns out that St. Petersburg is a very attractive place to live.
8. Krasnogorsk, Moscow region
This city is located in the north-west of Moscow, which is very favorable from the point of view of ecology. Usually in the Moscow region the winds go from north to south, so that all the smoke and fumes from the ten-millionth capital blows away from Krasnogorsk in the opposite direction.
In addition, Krasnogorsk is located 22 km from the center of Moscow, and in fact starts right outside the Moscow Ring Road. Unsurprisingly, this is a very pleasant place to live, especially given the city's abundance of green space and the financial giant just around the corner where it is easy to find work.
However, the townspeople are not too happy with their lot and estimate the level of their well-being at 4.9 points. Interestingly, last year the score was much higher - 5.7 points. What happened there?
7. Vidnoe, Moscow region
Like Krasnogorsk, the small 70-thousandth city of Vidnoe is located very close to Moscow. It is only three kilometers away from the Moscow Ring Road.
Among the cities near Moscow, Vidnoye has long enjoyed a good reputation, and even at the beginning of the two thousandth was considered one of the most comfortable in all of Russia. And the average assessment of the level of their wealth by residents is 5 points.
The city boasts an abundance of parks, small rivers and lakes, as well as a well-developed infrastructure. And if something is missing in the city, then the electric train with an interval of 7 minutes will take the townspeople to the center of Russia, located a couple of tens of minutes away.
6. Reutov, Moscow region
It seems that the center of gravity is gradually shifting from Moscow to the region. How else to explain the abundance of cities near Moscow in the ranking? Residents of the Russian capital are experiencing all the hardships of life in a huge metropolis: crowding, gas pollution, huge traffic jams. And the Moscow region is no longer Moscow, but with all the advantages of the capital.
Infrastructure in the Moscow region is almost as well developed as in the capital, and products and services are slightly cheaper. So the residents of Reutov rate their stay in the city as good with a score of 5.1.
5. Mytishchi, Moscow region
And again in the ranking is the Moscow region. This time we will focus on Mytishchi, another satellite city of Moscow. Like many other cities participating in this list, it is located very close to the Moscow Ring Road.
The city is developing intensively - where at the beginning of the century there were dilapidated houses, typical new buildings are already rising. And its infrastructure does not lag behind construction projects in terms of growth rate.
In general, residents of Mytishchi are satisfied with the level of the city's well-being and give it a 5.1. Only one thing darkens their life - the absence of their own metro. The talks have been going on for a very long time, but the authorities have moved on to specifics quite recently. It is assumed that the "orange" line of Moscow will reach Mytishchi and the city will acquire two stations at once.
4. Tyumen
In fourth place in the list of the richest cities in Russia is the only Siberian, Tyumen. This city is a longtime favorite of many ratings, ranging from the cheapest new buildings and ending list of the cleanest cities in Russia.
And the townspeople are rather satisfied with their lives in it, assessing the degree of the city's wealth at 5.2 points. They also note the quality of life in the city - in Tyumen it is good both to be treated, and to work and get an education.
3.Moscow
It is not surprising that a city such as Moscow entered the top three in wealth. It is surprising that the capital of our Motherland is only in third place.
It is no secret that for many years Moscow has been the center of attraction for all of Russia, where people come to live and work. Prices for housing and food in the capital are among the highest in Russia. Supermegalopolis is also ahead of all in terms of salaries, which are the highest in the country. As a result, Muscovites rate their life in the city as rather good and give it 5.2 points.
And although Moscow took only third place in the list of the richest cities, Muscovites, who are accustomed to primacy, can find stability in their attitude to their city as a consolation. The assessment of one's own well-being in comparison with the previous year fell by only 0.2 points.
2. Murino, Leningrad region
So who has overtaken the mother of Russian cities in terms of living standards? In second place in the list of the richest cities was a small satellite city of St. Petersburg, which became a city quite recently, just a couple of years ago.
Murino is considered a city with one of the highest population densities. Moreover, the city is still under construction, and after all the construction sites are completed and new settlers move in, Murino will overtake such human anthills as Singapore and Delhi in terms of the number of people per square meter.
Apparently, the tightness is beginning to affect - if last year the townspeople estimated their well-being at 6 points, then this year it was only 5.3 points.
1. Kudrovo, Leningrad region
In the first place among the richest cities in Russia is the twin brother Murino - the same city in the Leningrad region, which received this status just a couple of years ago, the same densely built up and densely populated, and also suffering from transport problems.
With St. Petersburg, where the vast majority of residents of the suburb work, Kudrovo is connected by only one road. And there are always traffic jams on it. True, the government promises to build a metro there, but when it will.
But despite all the problems, residents of Kudrovo believe that they are doing very well. The average estimate of their own income reaches 5.8 points. What do they like there?
- A large number of young families and an almost complete absence of drunks, hooligans and other asocial personalities.
- Lots of playgrounds.
- Large shopping centers within walking distance.
- The activity of local residents. They regularly go to subbotniks, organize and conduct charity events and make sure that developers do not go too far. So, they managed to defend the green boulevard in the city, which they had already tried to use for new buildings.
Which city in Russia is the poorest?
This city is not located in one of the depressed regions of Russia like the Altai Territory and the Republic of Tyva, where, according to RIA Novosti lowest income this year.
According to the respondents, at the very bottom of the scale of the wealth of Russian cities were two relatively prosperous (by the standards of depressed regions) cities of the Rostov region with a working industry. These are Shakhty and Kamensk-Shakhtinsky. Their residents believe that they do not have enough money for anything.
