The RBC rating agency has summed up the results of new car sales in the first quarter of 2013. Compared to the same period in 2012, the total number of cars sold practically did not change - the increase was only 0.3%. This parity is in line with analyst forecasts, which predict a maximum 1% increase in sales per year.
We bring to your attention rating of the best selling car brands in Russia in 2013... It should be noted that almost all the participants in the top ten showed a decline in sales compared to the first quarter of last year. Only KIA (+ 6.14%) and Renault (+ 22.20%) showed growth.

Astra has remained the most popular among Opel for several years in a row, Opel Corsa is also readily bought, but more expensive models of the brand are already in less demand.

The “people's car” Ford Focus remains the flagship of sales. Although its popularity has fallen noticeably - compared to the first quarter of 2012, 15% fewer cars of this model were sold.
8. Toyota (29 333 pcs.)
The most popular model of the brand in 2013 was the Toyota Camry sedan. Compared to the first quarter of last year, sales of these executive cars increased by 3%.
7. Volkswagen (35,274 pcs.)
The Top 25 most popular cars among Russians included two models from VW at once - Polo and Tiguan, but if sales of the more affordable Polo practically did not sag, the demand for more expensive Tiguan fell by 17%.
6. Nissan (35 916 pcs.)
Among the popular models of the brand, it should be noted Nissan Qashqai, its sales increased in comparison with 2012 by 9%. The updated version of the Nissan X-Trail is also among the 25 most popular models.
5. Chevrolet (36,406 pcs.)
Among the popular models of the brand were the compact SUV Chevrolet Niva and the beloved Chevrolet Cruze.
4. Hyundai (40,714 pcs.)
Hyundai Solaris breaks all popularity records, second only to Lada Granta. Among other models from Hyundai, the affordable ix35 crossovers are in special demand.
3. KIA (41,724 pcs.)
The updated KIA Rio became a hit of Korean automakers, sales of which grew by as much as 8% compared to the first quarter of last year. The second most popular model from KIA is the Sportage compact crossover.
2. Renault (48,030 pcs.)
The budget crossover Renault Duster was among the ten most popular car models, providing Renault with a significant increase in sales. The Renault Sandero hatchback remains popular among Russians.
1. Lada (107 427 pcs.)
Lada has been the leader in the rating of the best-selling car brands in Russia for many years in a row. Among the models of the Russian automaker, the most popular was Lada Granta, sales of which increased by 438% in comparison with the same period last year. The Lada Largus station wagon, designed on the Renault Logan platform, is also gaining popularity.
