When choosing a laptop, buyers look not only at its technical parameters and price, but also at the manufacturer. Therefore, the resource LaptopMag, dedicated to reviews of smartphones, tablets and laptops, annually evaluates the world's "laptop" brands and makes laptop manufacturers rating.
When compiling the list, site experts used a 100-point scale, divided into several categories: user reviews (30 points maximum), technical support (20 points maximum), design (up to 15 points), laptop warranty (up to 5 points), quality of pre-installed software (up to 5 points), general lineup (up to 15 points), innovativeness (up to 10 points).
Here are the top 10 best laptop brands.
10. Toshiba
The total score is 58.
Ranked last for the second time since 2013. This is due to the poor quality of laptops, poor technical support and mediocre design. To fill the ointment, LaptopMag added that Toshiba is forcing users to pay shipping when returning substandard products and downloading too many unwanted programs.
9. Samsung
The total score is 60.
Although the company has released several thin and light notebooks such as the Ativ Book 9 and Book 9 Plus, its products have not competed with other laptops with more "long-lasting" batteries, and the design does not claim to be rave reviews. Samsung does offer good phone support.
8. Acer
The total score is 67.
In 2016, the brand moved up from last place to eighth, mainly due to the weakness of its competitors, as innovation and technical support are not among the strengths of Acer products. Most of the brand's new laptops were rated as good but not outstanding.
7. Microsoft

The company is known for its innovative products, such as the Surface Book laptop, which runs twice as fast as the MacBook Pro, according to the manufacturer. However, Microsoft has an alarming tendency to roll out raw products, as it did with the awkward touchpad on the Surface Book's surface. Also, the brand's products are expensive compared to the competition.

The total score is 73.
The brand has slipped two spots down this year as it released a number of unsuccessful models in 2015 that suffered from low battery life, including the Specter x2 2-in-1, Envy 13t and EliteBook 745 G3. That being said, the X360 13t Specter was one of the best convertible laptops of the past year.
5. MSI
The total score is 75.
MSI's line of laptops (mostly gaming models) are packed with new and intriguing features such as mechanical keyboards and eye tracking sensors. The company's devices are attractive in design and performance, but users have to bear the cost of shipping defective laptops to the manufacturer.
4. Lenovo
The total score is 77.
Lenovo makes one of best laptops in the world, but it also has unsuccessful models. The latter, according to the editors of LaptopMag, is the LaVie Z, which weighs 0.45 kg, but has a terrible keyboard. However, the company's weak telephone support prevented it from reaching the top 3.
3. Asus
The total score is 81.
The company made it to the top with high-quality laptops like the Asus Zenbook UX305. They placed the Taiwanese manufacturer in third place in the recall category.
2. Dell
The total score is 82.
For the second consecutive year, Dell has been ranked # 2 laptop supplier and # 2 overall due to its excellent laptop lineup and helpful warranty. The company offers the widest range of laptops ranging from inexpensive to high-performance gaming laptops.
1. Apple
The total score is 83.
Still the # 1 laptop brand. It has been at the forefront for the seventh consecutive year with a combination of best-in-class notebooks and industry-leading technical support. The Cupertino, California-based company also received top marks for powerful pre-installed software and user-friendly warranty options. The defective laptop can either be mailed (shipping costs incurred by Apple) or brought to a store for warranty service.
