Choosing a school for a child is a matter that requires thought, thoroughness and good information. A good guideline can be Department of Education ratingassessing the contribution of schools to the education of young minds.
When compiling the latest ranking (data for 2016/2017), the Moscow Department was guided by the following indicators:
- students' grades on the OGE and USE;
- what results did they demonstrate at the Olympiads (both Moscow and All-Russian) and at competitions;
- and also (the spirit of the new era) - whether schools have the opportunity to work with children who have health problems.
The level of work on "crime prevention" is also assessed (however, the degree of workload among students in leading schools in Moscow is such that there is hardly enough sleep there, let alone crimes). A place in the ranking brings not only honor, but also solid cash infusions from the mayor's office, which only the best schools in Moscow in 2018 will receive.
The full list (in the ranking of 292 schools), we will consider at the end, and now the top 10 leaders, after training in which you can safely enter one of the the best universities in Moscow.
10. School number 1329
School No. 1329 opens the rating of Moscow schools in 2018, according to the Department of Education. A few years ago, it did not stand out from a number of similar ones, until it was decided to develop a physics and mathematics class. They invited teachers from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University, organized special assignments, prepare children for Olympiads, tournaments and take them to children's camps with an educational bias.
According to the results of the All-Russian Olympiad in 2018, the school boasts four prize-winners in mathematics, five in physics and (quite unexpectedly) nine in law. Also, in addition to the specialized engineering class, the school has a specialized medical class at Sechenov University. It's not so easy to get there - you have to take exams. But as a result, in addition to the usual program, the child can even learn to shoot from a bow - this sport is taught in one of the school sections.
9. School number 1568
Despite its youth, the Lyceum named after Pablo Neruda (this is the full name of school No. 1568) has firmly established itself among the best educational institutions in the capital for schoolchildren. It was founded about twelve years ago by the director of one of the Moscow lyceums, which brought with them all the color of the teaching staff. It is not known how the former school reacted to this, but the current one clearly benefited. If the first enrollment was a little more than fifty students, then after a series of mergers, children from grades 1 to 11 began to study at the lyceum.
It is difficult to study at the lyceum, both parents and their offspring are immediately warned about this. Children are kept there in Spartan conditions; three - the most common grade, there are few good students, but there are no excellent students at all. They do not forgive attempts to cheat: if they didn’t do their homework, they immediately sent a bad mark to the magazine. The child (and also his parents) will have to study a lot, there will be almost no free time left. The school's profile is natural sciences, mathematics, information technology and in-depth study of English and Spanish.
8. School number 57
Despite the scandal that erupted in 2016, as a result of which some of the school's teachers were put on the international wanted list, as well as a two-time change of director (or, perhaps, thanks to her), school No. 57 remains one of the best for teaching children. The results of the Olympiads allow us to judge this.
There is a lot of competition for school, so parents first enroll their children in the so-called “developmental education groups”. Up to 300 preschoolers are recruited there. True, this does not guarantee income. There is also no guarantee that the child will move to a specialized class - not all students of the school are able to withstand the strict standards set by it. Therefore, there is a chance to get into the profile from the side, although you will have to face the arrogance of old-timers. After all, this school, despite all the troubles, is still considered elite.
7. Lyceum "Second School"
Physics and mathematics at school has always been strong, and once one of the strongest teaching staff of the USSR gathered there. Although more than 60 years have passed since the foundation of this educational institution, it is still consistently among the top ten best in Moscow.
Education at the lyceum is built on the principle of a university - from lectures to practical work. Teachers do not use ordinary textbooks; they have their own program. According to the results of the All-Russian Olympiad, the students of the Second School won 13 places in the mathematical direction, 7 in physics and 7 in economics. The results on the Unified State Exam are also very good - more than 80% of students gain 220 points or higher in three subjects. However, getting into the promised physics and mathematics heaven is not easy. Children must pass a series of exams (oral mathematics looks especially intimidating, judging by the reviews).
6. Technological college number 21
School at TK # 21 among the rest is a white crow. It trains children with hearing impairment - deaf and hard of hearing. They can get primary, basic general and secondary specialized education here by profiles: auto mechanic, carpenter, designer (various industries), archivist, programmer and so on.
By now, the school has accumulated a lot of experience in teaching children with disabilities. The teachers have experience of working not only with the hearing impaired, but also with children with special needs in psychological development. School helps them not only to learn, but also to get a job.
5. Lyceum number 1580
This is the former school number 1180, founded under the auspices of the Technical University. Bauman. He specializes, as you might guess, in the physics and mathematics direction, however, if you wish, you can deepen your knowledge of English or computer science. Mainly those who are planning to enter Baumansky in the future study there - as it is stated, almost 90% of students go there.
In the senior grades, education is built on a university principle, starting from lectures and ending with an entourage in the form of grade books. In addition to the granite of science, students have the opportunity to train finer mental muscles - the lyceum has its own theater studio and even a rock band.
4. School number 1514
This educational institution was founded back in 1952 as a purely mathematical one. However, after the opening of the culturological department under the auspices of the Russian Humanitarian University, schoolchildren can also choose humanitarian (in-depth study of literature and foreign languages) or culturological (philosophy, history, and even such exotic as Latin) profiles. In addition, in the 10th grade, if there are others interested, you can choose the natural science direction.
Both the humanities and mathematics departments at school are strong - there are prize-winners of the Olympiads both there and there. The staff of the school does not forget that some children are studying, so there are always some excursions, games, contests and holidays.And during the holidays, students can go to specialized recreation camps or practice in the chosen profile of education. It is clear that it is not easy to get into the abode of knowledge, and the competition is 4-5 people per place. You can enter there after exams that are quite difficult for children of this age.
3. School number 179
Another old Soviet school with strong physics and mathematics traditions. True, they were almost lost in the 80s of the last century, but starting from this century, the teaching of mathematics began to revive in schools. In addition to her, the educational institution has several more profiles, which include biology and mathematics, as well as experimental inventive (aka engineering and technical). But even if we take subjects for which there is no specialized training, the students of school No. 179 manage to show excellent results here too - for example, they win the Russian language Olympiads.
Although the school's statistics on the Unified State Exam is not the highest (no more than 73% of students receive more than 220 points), it has few rivals in terms of the number of students enrolled in universities. The school also compares favorably with the number of children in the class - there are no more than 20, and sometimes a little more than a dozen. To enter there, the child will have to pass exams - written mathematics (for all profiles), as well as, depending on the specialization, an interview or an oral exam.
2. School number 1535
In second place in the list of the best schools in Moscow in 2018 is another educational institution with a rich Soviet tradition. This is a long-lived school - it was founded back in 1929, and since then has undergone many metamorphoses - from an exemplary institution with in-depth study of oriental languages to an experimental lyceum at the Institute of Asian and African Countries. However, after reconstruction and merger, the humanities became only one of the areas of study. Now students can choose philological, social, economic, physics and mathematics (well, what an old Moscow school without it), psychological (under the auspices of the psychology department of Moscow State University) or biomedical (organized after the infusion of school No. 35, which was under the auspices of the Medical University. Sechenov).
However, the school shines in the study of languages - its students are consistently winners of the Olympiads in English, Chinese and French. It is not surprising, because even their theater studio is in French, chemistry is in English, and if you wish, you can choose Japanese and Arabic. Upon entering school, children will have to pass exams, including, in addition to the usual Russian language, there is also a foreign language, as well as mathematics.
1. NRU HSE Lyceum
The past year was the first time that was super successful for the lyceum at the Higher School of Economics. He won the honorable first place among schools in Moscow, displacing the former permanent leader - School No. 1535. The lyceum is distinguished by a somewhat non-traditional class system, more familiar to Western countries. Students are divided into groups according to their own chosen subjects. The number of people in a group usually does not exceed twenty. Pupils decide for themselves what subjects they will study, and they themselves (with the help of a teacher, of course) make up a curriculum.
There are six directions in the lyceum - from economics to oriental studies and design. Perhaps it was this original system that helped the HSE Lyceum to climb the school Olympus. However, evil tongues claim that the lyceum was elected as a leader purely due to the number of graduated students. After all, what are 300 graduates of school No. 1535 versus 700 from the HSE Lyceum?
