This is exactly what we did when composing the current rating of the best films of 2013... Our top ten includes films that have received high marks from critics and viewers on the portals Kinopoisk and Megacritic.
The rating contains films belonging to a wide variety of genres, but more than half are based on various literary works.

8. Before midnight
The film is the best of the trilogy, which includes Before Dawn and Before Sunset. The melodrama is dedicated to the love of a man and a woman who have been together for many years. In the relationship, "autumn" reigns, and overcoming it is the basis of the plot.
7. Dirt
The British comedy drama was released in September 2013. The main character is the corrupt police officer Bruce Robertson, who is obsessed with drugs and sex. Addictions greatly prevent Robertson from guarding the law.
6. Boyfriend from the future
This fantastic comedy by British director Richard Curtis makes you believe in time travel. The handsome and talented lawyer travels back in time to charm the girl of his dreams. Unfortunately, the first date has to be repeated many times before the beauty's heart trembles.
5. Metallica: Through the Impossible
The adventure musical is a hybrid of a concert and a fictional film. The picture was not just the best film-biography of the famous group. In the center of the plot is the story of a member of the technical team of the group, who must deliver a bag with mysterious contents to the performance.
4. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
The continuation of Katness Everdeen's Hunger Games winning story hits all box office ratings. However, she again finds herself in the Arena, where opponents are even more dangerous, and the stakes are incredibly high. The film is based on Catching Fire by Susan Collins.
3. The Great Gatsby
Has dropped to the third line of the rating, the film with Leonardo DiCaprio in the title role. The action takes place in 1922 on the "golden" coast of Long Island among the luxurious villas of the American rich.The picture is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by F.S. Fitzgerald. The plot tells the viewer the story of a bygone era, impossible love and human tragedy.
2. Gravity
This fantastic thriller tells about the space travel of Dr. Ryan Stone - a brilliant specialist in medical engineering. In the course of the disaster, the shuttle dies and Stone remains in the company of astronaut Matt Kowalski. Together they have to fight for life.
1. Race
Topped the rating of 2013, the film "Race"... The 1970s became the "golden age" for Formula 1 racing. In the center of the plot - the rivalry of two irreconcilable racers: Englishman James Hunt and Australian Niki Lauda. One of them is a handsome womanizer, the second is a serious perfectionist. But both are equally persistent in their quest for victory.
