Finally, the heavenly chancellery returned to its direct duties, and instead of the usual slush, this winter's winter pleases Russians with a thick snow cover. This should be noted! And in order to do this not lying on the couch, but actively, for the benefit of the body and for the sake of a good mood, you can go to one of the best winter resorts in Russia in 2019... The list of such resorts was compiled by the Turstat agency through a survey of Internet users. And we have expanded and supplemented this list.
7. Leningrad region
The best ski resorts: Igora, Okhta Park, Krasnoe Lake
The rating of the best winter resorts opens with three places in the Leningrad Region, where St. Petersburg residents love to spend weekends and vacations. Igora is a large complex located on the Karelian Isthmus - a place that can proudly bear the title of "most beautiful" in the northern countries. There are nine tracks in total in Igor, the largest is more than a kilometer in length. They are intended for both experienced and novice skiers.
If up to Igora it is a little more than 50 km along the road, then Okhta Park is even closer - it takes no more than 20 minutes to go there. The ski slopes are shorter than those of Igors, the largest is 390 meters long, but there is also a snow park and a huge ice rink one and a half kilometers long, located in a beautiful snow-covered forest. And the resort "Red Lake" is located the longest from St. Petersburg. The number of tracks is impressive - there are 15 of them, there is also an extreme version for the most experienced, a little over a kilometer long and 120 meters high.
6. Altai
Best resort: Belokurikha
One of the most popular winter resorts has a serious federal status. Its main attraction, thanks to which the resort was born, is the healing springs of nitrogen-rich water. Belokurikha is located on the border with a relict forest in which oaks and Manchurian hazel trees grow.
Favorable climate, for which Belokurikha is compared with Switzerland, of wondrous beauty of nature and healing water - what could be better? In our time, good service has been added to these components. One of the most popular winter resorts in Russia is built up with sanatoriums, boarding houses or cozy houses for two to four people.
The largest of the slopes of Belokurikha is more than two and a half kilometers long, and it is as high as 550 m. But in addition to the experienced ones, both beginners and children can ride. There is a separate well-lit track for them.
5. Ural
Best resorts: White Mountain, Sun Valley
The Ural Mountains are one of the most popular places for winter recreation. There are more than fifty of them, but two places are considered the best - “White Mountain” and “Solnechnaya Dolina”.
The Belaya Mountain resort is located on one of the most beautiful mountains in the Ural mountain range. The main distinguishing feature of the resort is excellent free skiing, that is, off the piste. This extreme pleasure will be maximum if you have not forgotten your best all-round snowboard.
However, freeride is not the only one - there are trails on the mountain for both beginners and athletes.
"Solnechnaya Dolina" is fully consistent with its name - the mountain slope is reliably protected from cold winds and is well warmed by the sun. There are 11 slopes in the resort, from “cheesecake” to extreme, for experienced skiers, but “Valley” specializes in beginners.
Both resorts have lighted trails, artificial snow systems, snow machines and lifts.
4. Kemerovo region
Best resorts: Sheregesh, Tashtagol
This winter resort is gradually developing, and tourism experts predict that Sheregesh will be almost as popular as Sochi.
Sheregesh is located at the foot of the mountain, the slopes of which, as if by nature itself, are intended for human entertainment. There are ten slopes in the resort, the largest of which is almost four kilometers long. Moreover, they are of different difficulty levels: some, more gentle, are good for beginners who have just gotten on skis, while experienced skiers who love to race at great speed will delight in others. There are opportunities for free skiing on the slopes - avalanches do not descend from the mountain, and the terrain is diverse.
3. North Caucasus
The best resorts: Dombay, Arkhyz, Elbrus, Veduchi
Although the level of development of the services provided to the North Caucasian ski resorts is still far from the European level, prices also differ from European ones, and in a pleasant way. There are opportunities to rent a house at a cheaper price, there are more expensive ones, and the tracks are quite comfortable, with lighting and snow making systems, if the weather is not lucky.
- Elbrus, despite its formidable appearance, is very supportive of beginners. Its slopes in the resort area are gentle and perfect for training and the first timid skiing.
- Experienced and risky people will prefer Cheget, with its dangerously steep and little affected by civilization tracks (the danger of an avalanche adds adrenaline in the blood).
- Dombai will be preferred by families with children who prefer to relax in comfortable conditions and put their beloved child on skis for the first time.
- A good alternative to Dombay is Arkhyz. It is just beginning to rebuild, but its comfortable "green" tracks are more than suitable for training beginners.
2. Moscow region
The best resorts: Sorochany, Stepanovo, Volen, Yakhroma
Surprisingly, there are almost 20 good ski resorts in the flat suburbs of Moscow. It is clear that the name is more than arbitrary, since the height of the steepest tracks barely exceeds 100 meters. But the conditions for beginners are almost ideal: comfortable trails with gentle slopes, inexpensive instructors for adults and children (well, anyway cheaper than abroad). Plus tradition - most are located in the former Olympic reserve school, where Muscovites used to go to ride during the Soviet era.
The differences among the resorts are minimal. Both there and there are about the same level of service and quality of the tracks.
- Experienced skiers prefer "Stepanovo" and "Sorochany" - there the slopes are steeper and more difficult.
- Beginners and parents prefer "Yakhroma" - the conditions there are the most comfortable for beginners.
- And those who want not so much to ride as to spend time as if on the slopes of the Alps go to Volen. There, at the European level of service and prices at the European level.
1. Krasnaya Polyana, Sochi
The best resorts: Rosa Khutor, Gorki Gorod.
For the most the best ski resorts in Russia In 2019, 40% of respondents cast their votes, more than twice ahead of the second place in the rating. Why are they so popular?
Rosa Khutor is a luxury resort, let's not be afraid of this word; great place for those who can afford it. It opened only eight years ago, but during its existence it managed to receive several awards for the quality of the services provided. There are nearly a hundred tracks in Rosa Khutor. Most of them have a high level of difficulty, suitable only for experienced skiers, snowboarders and those who prefer free style. However, there is a place for beginners in this skiing kingdom too. There are only three such tracks, but their total length is more than six kilometers. If a mild winter damages the snow cover, all trails have the opportunity to make up for the shortfall with artificial snow.
If Rosa Khutor is primarily suitable for experienced skiers and professionals, then the neighboring Gorki Gorod is primarily intended for beginners. However, even more experienced athletes will find their niche there. The resort has “black” and “red” slopes of increased difficulty. There are not many people on them, unlike "Khutor". Most prefer to learn to ride under the supervision of instructors on more comfortable and safe "green" and "blue".
And also "Gorki" is a mecca of freeriders; this resort was one of the first in Russia to provide all the conditions for adherents of free style.
