I would like to believe that the fashion for sports and active sports will return to Russia together with the Olympics. Already today on the streets of cities you can see a noticeably increased number of cyclists, skaters, skaters. In addition, the population is actively becoming interested in and using smart electronics. The market for wearable gadgets has grown considerably in 2015 and has found its fans.
What if you combine love for new electronics and sports? No, this is not the future friends. This is real! You can now ride a bike in sunglasses while listening to music, making calls, with absolutely free hands and without the risk of breaking the headphone wires.
Today we offer a short XRide smart glasses review - a fashionable accessory combining sunglasses and a Bluetooth headset.
Appearance
First impression of the gadget's appearance: a typical product from Aliexpress, but this is only the first impression. Having twisted it in my hands and tried on the accessory, it seemed to me very promising.
Perhaps this shape of glasses is not suitable for everyone, but some will definitely make aesthetic sacrifices for ease of use. But more on ergonomics later ...
The soft-touch plastic frame doesn't feel bulky, and comes with neat lens mounts. The lens itself is solid and also made of plastic. And don't be confused by the abundance of plastic parts, because modern materials are strong and durable.
By the way, the manufacturer offers as an option a transparent lens "chameleon" for the dark time of the day and I would advise you to order it right away.
Both lenses protect against harmful UV rays, and the polarizing effect will especially appeal to fishermen and will allow you to catch the eye. This effect is easy to check using the tester supplied.
At the first fitting, the glasses did not “sat down” in the best way, and adjusting the nasal pads seemed like a dangerous gamble. The thing is that the material of their fastening is very different from metal and it seems like a trifle to break it. Armed with the instructions, we find out that the adjustment is provided and, with trembling in our hands, we gently unbend it a little wider. Great, now the glasses fit like family. It didn't seem so scary to regulate the second and third time.

In the temporal region of the right arch there is a control unit in the form of a rocker switch, a micro-usb port, a microphone hole and a light indication of charging / pairing the device.
The rocker is responsible for turning on the device, pairing with the phone and adjusting the volume.
The micro-usb port serves not only for charging, but also for connecting headphones, of which there are two types: mono and stereo. The size of the earbuds is average, but unfortunately there are no replaceable silicone tips of other sizes in the kit.
Under the XRide logo on the left arm, there is a touch control module, its functions:
- short touch to stop / pause playback;
- swipe forward / backward - previous / next song, respectively;
- swipe forward / backward at the moment of an incoming call - reject / answer.
To control the voice, hold your finger for about 2 seconds. The function works correctly on iPhone and Samsung smartphones. Voice control refused to work on my Sony Xperia Z.
It should be noted that all touches are recognized correctly, and getting your finger into the desired area is not difficult, thanks to the special shape in the form of a small depression.
Separately, I would like to note the sound quality of the headphones, it is quite suitable not only for conversations, but also for comfortable listening to music. But this is of course only if you are not a demanding music lover.
The headphones are held firmly and from the side it all looks quite aesthetically pleasing.
Options and prices
What really pleased me from the first minutes of my acquaintance with the glasses was their complete set. Not every branded product is packaged this way.
The glasses are placed in a very convenient and high-quality pouch, a case, a replaceable lens (option) in a plastic package, headphones - in a zip-bag. The box also contains instructions in Russian, a test card and a lens cloth. The USB charging cable is flat, and I must say it gives personality.
XRide smart glasses price review showed that you can buy them for 4,000 rubles (at the time of this writing) in the manufacturer's official online store or for the same money in stores in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
An analysis of the few online reviews about the company and the product allows us to conclude that smart glasses appeal to customers.
Time will tell whether this accessory can become popular in the Russian market. We liked it and there will definitely be a use for it.
