We present a rating of the best laptops 2020 in terms of price and quality, top 12 models from budget options to powerful gaming solutions.
Inexpensive and good laptops for work and study up to 30,000 rubles
3. ASUS VivoBook 15 (X512DA-BQ1169)
- Screen: 15.6 ″ (1920 × 1080)
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 3 3200U (2600 MHz)
- RAM: 8 GB
- Storage: 256 GB
- Integrated graphics: AMD Radeon Vega 3
- Operating System: No OS, Endless OS
The top three budget notebooks in 2020 are opened by the thin and light device from ASUS. It is entirely plastic, the color of graphite is a rather stylish shade that favorably distinguishes it among the sea of black and silver brethren. And its keyboard is equipped with a special hinge structure called ErgoLift, with which it can be tilted. Agree, it's much more convenient to type this way.
The device is equipped with a 15.6-inch display in Full HD resolution, and the screen-to-body ratio for a budget laptop is excellent - 88%.
Inside the device, the minimum configuration is an AMD Ryzen 3 3200U processor with a frequency of 2.6 GHz. The RAM was filled out well - 8 GB. So the laptop came out fast enough and powerful enough to easily cope with several open applications.
And ASUS VivoBook 15 has a built-in fingerprint scanner. So to enter the system, you no longer have to type (and remember) a password - just touch it with your finger. In addition, the laptop supports fast charging technology, which can raise the battery to 60% charge in just 49 minutes.
pros: build quality, low weight, speed, color rendering, battery life - 5 hours.
Minuses: TN-matrix, low screen brightness.
2. Acer Aspire 1 (A114-32)
- 14-inch screen (1920 × 1080)
- Processor: Intel Celeron N4000, frequency: 1.1 GHz (2.6 GHz, Turbo mode)
- Memory: 4096 MB, DDR4
- eMMC: 64GB
- Intel UHD Graphics 600
- Windows 10
Small, thin and light (1.5 kg) device from Acer belongs to the class of budget notebooks for work and office. It has a screen diagonal of only 14 inches, with a Full HD resolution. The budget makes itself felt, so the brightness and contrast of the screen are not brilliant, however, they are hardly better for other models of the same price range. Well, the response time of the screen of 43 ms hints that dynamic games such as shooters cannot be played here.
Internally, the budget configuration A114-32 contains an Intel Celeron N4000 quad-core processor clocked at 1.1GHz with overclocking capability up to 2.6GHz.
Hard memory is only 64 GB, of which about 20 is occupied by the operating system. But you can add a little volume with an SD card. The Acer Aspire 1 went on sale with Windows 10 S, which, if desired, can be upgraded to the “pro” version. And without spending a dime.
A nice feature that sets the Acer Aspire 1 apart from the competition is that due to the passive cooling involved and the absence of a mechanical hard drive, the laptop runs silently. And since the processor is not too powerful, the device "eats" a little. As a result, it can work on average 6-7 hours without recharging.
In general, if you need a simple laptop on which you can read documents, surf the Internet, play streaming video and do all this in silence, then the Acer Aspire 1 is a good choice.
pros: price, almost silent.
Minuses: no lock for SD card, no slot for another memory stick.
1. Asus E203MA (N5000, UHD605)

- RAM 4 GB
- 128 GB storage
- Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 605
- operating system: Windows 10 Home
Asus is not limited to one type of product, and produces powerful gaming models, stylish and expensive laptops for business, and small and inexpensive devices for work and study. We will just talk about the representative of the latter. For a relatively small price, the buyer gets an undemanding Intel Pentium Silver N5000 processor with a frequency of 1.1 to 2.7 GHz, an integrated Intel UHD 605 graphics adapter, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of data storage.
If desired, memory can be added by inserting an SD card. By the way, the speed of data exchange between the "main" device in Asus E203 is one of the best in this price group. Wi-Fi speeds are also not far behind.
The laptop's display is small, with a diagonal of only 11.6 inches, but the response time is only 10 ms, so you can play games on the Asus E203.
At the same time, the battery life of the laptop is not bad - it can do without recharging from 8 to 9 hours.
pros: performance, reading speed, quietness, almost no heat.
Minuses: tiny arrow keys.
The best laptops under 40,000 rubles

If necessary, you can buy RAM up to 16 GB. There are two slots for its installation inside the laptop.
pros: up to 10 hours of battery life, high-quality and responsive touch screen, almost no heat.
Minuses: There is no lan-connector, although this problem is solved by purchasing a USB-Ethernet adapter.
2. DELL Inspirion 5490
- Anti-glare screen 14 ″ (1920 × 1080)
- Intel Core i3 processor, Intel Core i3 10110U (2100 MHz)
- RAM 4 GB
- 128 GB storage
- Integrated graphics: Intel UHD Graphics 620, Intel UHD Graphics, Intel HD Graphics (2GB)
- operating system Linux
The DELL company has got its hand on high-quality laptops, which at the same time do not cost too much. It can be seen even when looking at the case - the device is black, solid and strict.
The Inspirion 5490's display has an anti-reflective coating, which you will certainly appreciate if you use your laptop outdoors on a sunny day. The display itself has good indicators of brightness and contrast, so the eyes should not get tired when working with it.
Considering the characteristics of the processor and RAM, the performance of the laptop is praised for work tasks (office applications, work in Photoshop, etc.). If desired, memory can be purchased, there is a slot for it. And the Intel Iris Plus graphics card is enough for not too demanding games.
Another nice feature of the laptop is Dell Mobile Connect. It makes it very convenient to transfer files from smartphone to laptop and vice versa.

Minuses: Keyboard flexes when pressed, bottom cover gets hot during operation.

- RAM 4 GB
- 256 GB storage
- Integrated Intel UHD Graphics
- Operating system: Linux, Windows 10 Home
Now on the market of inexpensive laptops, the Acer Aspire 5 is one of the best in terms of price and functionality offered. It is equipped with an Intel Core i3-10110U processor, which is capable of overclocking up to 4.1 GHz. It has 4 GB of RAM, but there is room for one more bar.
However, with data storage, things are not so brilliant - the device has only 256 GB of SSD storage. But there is space for an additional hard drive, and if you wish, you can always use an external drive to store weighty movies, music and all the necessary files.
The IPS matrix, LED backlighting and special widescreen technology will allow you to see the image in all its glory from every possible angle. Also included is the Acer TrueHarmony audio system for superb sound. And even in the budget configuration up to 40,000 rubles, the default keyboard is backlit.
But the most important and best feature of this laptop, which will undoubtedly be appreciated by both students and office workers, is the long-lasting battery. The laptop can work at least 9.5 hours in a row.
pros: fast, powerful, lightweight, long-lived.
Minuses: stripped down BIOS, air intake from below, few indicators, including a capsloka.

A fully equipped IdeaPad will allow you to cope not only with work tasks, but also to play most modern games at medium and even maximum settings.
According to users of this laptop, its IPS-screen with thin bezels has good viewing angles, plenty of brightness and excellent color reproduction. And a comfortable keyboard with optional backlighting and a webcam with a shutter provide additional comfort when working.

- Processor: Intel Core i7 8550U

- Total storage: 512GB

- Windows 10 Home
Here is a very light (1.28 kg) and compact laptop equipped with a comfortable keyboard with deep key travel and backlighting. However, not all sellers sell models with a Russified keyboard, be sure to check this fact before buying.
As for performance, such popular and resource-intensive programs as AutoCAD, Autodesk 3ds Max and Adobe Premiere will run the laptop without problems.
The screen of the Mi Notebook Air is bright and rich enough to make it pleasant to watch movies and edit videos on it. However, for those who are professionally engaged in web design or other work for which the best color reproduction is important, the capabilities of this model may not be enough.
pros: high-quality sound, quiet operation, there is a fingerprint scanner,

This model has several modifications, from the most inexpensive, with an Intel Core i3 processor, Intel UHD Graphics and 256 GB storage, to a powerful one (Intel Core i7, 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD). This allows you to choose the option that is optimal in terms of price and capabilities for work and even play tasks.
A comfortable backlit keyboard, webcam and built-in fingerprint scanner increase the convenience and safety of the laptop.
pros: high resolution screen, speakers with Acer TrueHarmony function, comfortable touchpad, quiet and low heat.
Minuses: the screen glares, due to the fact that the color of the keyboard buttons is made of silver, to match the body, letters are less visible on them than on black.

- Video card GeForce RTX 2060 6144 MB
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
- without OS
Guessing from the appearance of the ASUS TUF Gaming FX505 that this is a gaming laptop is almost impossible. Perhaps this is for the best, since you can take it with you to work and study without fear of increased attention from colleagues.
But the filling and display are pleasantly surprising. Yes, the matrix in this model is only IPS, but the screen refresh rate is 120 Hz. So the picture will be very smooth when playing games and watching videos.
Depending on the configuration, this laptop is equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, GTX 1660 Ti or RTX 2060 graphics card. All modern AAA games will run at medium or, in extreme cases, at low settings with 50-60 fps.
For example, in Apex Legends at high graphics settings, fps constantly fluctuated between 64 and 70. Agree, not bad for an inexpensive but powerful gaming laptop for less than 100,000 rubles.
The Ryzen 7 3750H chipset that powers the ASUS TUF Gaming FX505 can't match the Intel Core i7-8750H in performance, but it does offer better battery life and more powerful integrated graphics.
pros: very comfortable backlit keyboard with soft keystrokes, quiet, 120 Hz refresh rate, average autonomy - 5 hours.
Minuses: low screen brightness, some users complain that sometimes the touchpad is buggy (freezes), it gets warm.
2. Lenovo Legion Y540-17

- Windows 10
A distinctive feature of the new item among the best gaming laptops of 2020 is its design. The metal body is made of beautiful silvery magnesium alloy. And the lid has 6,536 miniature holes through which light from the display passes through, creating visual effects. This gives the device an unusual look.
The display with IPS-matrix has a refresh rate of 120 Hz and small bezels that do not interfere with watching videos. The smoothness of the image during the gameplay is amazing, after such a screen you do not want to go back to conventional 60 Hz devices.
But there are no webcams in the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14. Good or bad - decide for yourself.
The AMD Ryzen 7 processor paired with NVIDIA GeForce graphics is responsible for the performance and enjoyable gaming experience. But if this is not enough for you, then there is also a more expensive model on sale, with an AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 video card with real-time ray tracing technology and 32 GB of RAM. This configuration will provide a margin of safety for the next couple of years. In Doom Eternal at high graphics settings, the device produces 103 fps, and in Overwatch - 75 fps.
pros: Loud, surround sound from speakers with 5.1.2-channel sound effect, full-size keyboard that will be convenient for those who switch to this laptop from a PC.
Minuses: without recharging the game will last about a couple of hours, no webcam. It should be noted that in the "typewriter" mode, the laptop will last longer - up to 7 hours.
Old DELL Inspiron 1520 2008 works. It seems that it is necessary to update for a long time, the duck works !!! And the screen, the resolution! These are now over 100 thousand.
I would not highly recommend buying DELL or ACER, I will explain why. I had a DELL laptop, for very decent money, but the motherboard had to be changed for the first time 2 weeks after the purchase, and the second time I did not change it and the laptop had to be sold for 3 kopecks for spare parts. The motivation of the authorized DELL service was as follows - due to various sanctions, the DELL company supplies spare parts ONLY for warranty repair, and my warranty has run out and therefore they cannot change the motherboard for me, because they are simply not available! I ran all over Moscow in search and did not find it. There were only restored ones, but it's a pig in a poke. It was in 2018, I don't know how it is now, but I would not dare to get involved. As for ACER, it's even funnier here))) I had a tablet with Windows 8, when everyone switched to 10 for free, I also updated the system to W10 on the ACER tablet, but it refused to work, because it did not have compatibility drivers. something with something))) I contacted the authorized ACER service, and what did I hear in response? haha) ACER has not developed and WILL NOT develop drivers for W10, is this a normal answer? I don't know how it is now, but the sediment remains! I would not dare to buy such devices anymore!
And there is nothing to run around Moscow, you must immediately look in China. Recovered is better than nothing, so take offense at yourself. Services, on the other hand, are mostly so-so organizations, they can say anything and come up with excuses, just not to repair an unprofitable apparatus. And in general, be wary of Win updates, rarely when they are good. And it would not hurt to make a backup before such an important event. So it's not Dell or Acer, it's you.
