For almost 30 years now, the British media company EMAP has awarded the Golden Joystick Award to the best PC games of the year every year.
This year was no exception, the list of winners of the Golden Joystick Award 2012 brought together games of all known genres. Best Games of 2012 were elected by popular Internet voting, in which more than 4 million people took part.

16. Best Action Game - Batman: Arkham City

12. Best MMO - World of Tanks
The number of tank simulator players exceeded 40 million in September 2012. The game has over two dozen different awards.
11.Best Strategy - Civilization V: Gods and Kings
The addon to the turn-based strategy presented users with 9 new civilizations, 27 new units, 1 new resource, 13 new buildings and 9 wonders of the world.
10. Best shooter - Battlefield 3
The game is a sequel to Battlefield 2, released back in 2005. The third part has already sold over 15 million copies.
9. Best Fighting Game - Mortal Kombat
The ninth version of the video game was released in April 2011 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. But the premiere for the PlayStation Vita took place only in May 2012, which allowed the game to take part in the Golden Joystick Award.
8.Best Role Playing Game (RPG) - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
The fifth part of the role-playing game became the winner in three nominations at once. In addition, the product earned the 2011 Video Game Award Game of the Year honorary title.
7.Best Racing Game - Forza 4
The Xbox 360 Car Simulator features the latest Kinect sensor in conjunction with traditional controls.
6.Best Sports Game - FIFA 12
The nineteenth version of the football game has the same set of features for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
5. Best Game for Mobile Game Consoles - Uncharted: Golden Abyss
Although the game is the fourth in the Uncharted series, it is the only game designed for the PlayStation Vita console.
4. Best Browser Game - Slender
The protagonist of the game is Slender Man, a character from online folklore. Indie horror is freely distributed over the Internet.
3. Best Game Moment - Throat of the World (The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim)
The second of three awards for Skyrim. Although, according to fans, conquering the mountain is just one of the many exciting moments in the game.
2. Most Anticipated Game - Grand Theft Auto V
The action is scheduled for release in April 2013. The game is designed for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
