Shyamalan has finally released his first direct sequel, Glass, which brings together characters from his two major hits (2000's Unbreakable and 2017's Split). On the other hand, those who have not watched the previous two films will hardly be able to understand what exactly is going on in the third, who all these people are and why they are brought together in a psychiatric hospital.
In the center of the plot is not one, but three heroes at once. It:
- Superhero David Dunn.
- Kevin Crumb is a man with many personalities, one of whom is the megalomaniac Beast that kills and eats people.
- Elijah Price, nicknamed "Mr. Glass", who once arranged a train wreck. The only survivor in it was David.
Do these three really have superpowers? Or are they all just crazy people who need to be kept out of society?
The main thing to know about this film (and about Shyamalan's opinion of superhero films in general) is that sound and color, battle scenes and laser light shows do not matter. What matters is what superheroes mean to a world that so desperately needs them.
